Perhaps I missed it - but what’s the load rating of the diet tire? Is it less than the normal tire for the trim(s) affected?

It’s been that way for awhile with small commuter cars and cute utes. I’m not aware of any trucks that don’t come with a full-size spare.

Look at what’s listed for a Corolla spare tire.

Correct. You better hope you don’t destroy a tire where there is no cell service or after the tire shops have closed.

Yikes, I'm extremely sorry I missed your posting. Above is the door sticker and yes, it does match the crappy temp spare.
It simply confirms that Toyota and/or GST intended the application of the T175 spare (which deceived me with their website "Full Spec" and vin-attached details showing a "full size" spare). I was careful to relate to the dealer management yesterday my research did confirm that this wasn't just an isolated one-off mistake as I discovered on this forum. I'll bet the Toyota website specs will soon be updated and show something different, time will tell. BTW, when I agreed to purchase this Tacoma, it was pre-delivery, and w/o the ability to inspect the vehicle.

    Thanks for following up.

Shitty thing for Toyota to do. I do find it weird the OR has a different spare though. Has any OR owners checked their trucks?

    My contact with Toyota Engagement yielded the following;
    "Thank you for contacting us.
We appreciate you contacting us to inquire about the spare tire for your 2024 Toyota Tacoma and we look forward to the opportunity to offer assistance. Thank you for the attachments.
Thank you for your loyalty to the Toyota brand.
Your vehicle is equipped with a temporary spare tire that may be a different size, tread type, and/or manufacturer from the ground tires installed on your vehicle. This information is available on page 593 of the owner’s manual. For your convenience we have included the link for the manual, https://assets.sia.toyota.com/publications/en/om-s/OM04041U/pdf/"
So they admit that the size is different, but they do not explain why the published spec's say otherwise.
If I ever hear back from GST I'll pass it along.

I mean not buying a vehicle because of a spare tire sitch seems completely overblown. And it once again confirms that this a documentation issue and not a factory issue.
Toyota for some reason seems to be using at least 3 different spare tire sizes

    Hello,

I reached out to Toyota PR on this one and can confirm it is a marketing mistake. They are updating the website right now. I'd like your permission to use a photo you posted for an article I plan to publish on this information. Let me know.

This isn't new, for example when did TRD Pro ever came with a 5th full size tire on a TRD Rim? Not sure if 4Runner ever had a legit 5th tire with correct rim and tpms sensor. My 16GX actually came like that and requires 5 Tire rotation, suprised 4Runners never did. Now I wonder if the LC or the GX550 come with a real full size spar not just temp tire.

I’m sure the dealer let you do a pre pickup inspection
You easily could have gotten out of the purchase at that time if this was brought up

The dealer is being more than fair with you

My 2018 4Runner Limited came with a matching spare with TPMS sensor. But I think it's only the Limited that does? I do five-tire rotations, and fortunately it notices when I rotate. However, it doesn't tell me the PSI for any of the tires.

On PickupTruckTalk.com and I'm working on it now. Toyota says they are updating their website and it was just a marketing error. The SR and SR5 models do not come with a full-size spare.
