That makes most sense other than maybe running to get the bags of lye to put by the scary axe and shovel.

That my Taco brethren is the long forgotten crossmember so I can make/install the skid for the transfer case. The little stamped metal thing Toyota put on there is all smashed around the case. It will now have a solid 1/4 plate. I haven't done the exhaust move/reroute yet, but that is smashed to a nice oval that hardly interferes at all...

Did some wiring after work today. Added a light for the rear storage area

    IMG_1022.jpg

Also going to add some more ground/rock lighting that I picked up a while back. Cool units that are magnetic… so no need to hard mount them. Need a couple out front. Couple more under and then a couple more in back behind the axle. Not there yet but you can see the dark areas. Looking forward to the light!

Notice the scary ax illuminated on the rack?

There is 1 less deer running around Wisconsin.
A doe committed Rav4 suicide last night.
The wife was coming to pick me up from work when this happened.

Bumper, grill, headlight, upper radiator support appears to bent in. The hood still opens/closes. No fluid leaks.

Dang that sucks, hope you & the wife are OK. Rav4 took it like a champ. Honestly impressive how little carnage there is, I feel like I see Tacomas crumpled into beer cans from deer impacts (lots of factors of course but our Taco front fascias don't seem all that robust especially now that I've taken mine apart a few times).

Damn, Dan. You should've shot it back in November.

Did she get it slowed down some before impact, or full speed?

They're supposed to crumple. Helps with absorption of the impact. All modern vehicles are like this.

She was doing 35-40. It came up out of a ditch by the 151 overpass, almost in the city limits.

    I'll remember that next fall.

Yes I am aware. My point was that the RAV4 seems to have held up better than our trucks which is surprising but not so surprising once you see how much plastic and very thin sheet metal are around our grille area. Even the crash bar looks to be more substantial on the RAV4 in Dan's photo compared to our aluminum unit on the Taco. Impressed by it's design is all.

Bummer... My wife has had two deer and a logtruck take her on since we have been in WI. The Sienna lost every time. Hope she is okay.
