No disagreement there. I’d do the same before I made any changes or bought any parts for troubleshooting.

My initial suggestion of the problem possibly being driveline vibes as opposed to the diff bearing is because I don’t think most people with diff bearing problems are starting at 25 mph and roaring by 45. Those are pretty slow speeds for wheels.

I’ve never heard a driveshaft/line roar. I’ve heard them squeak, chirp and squeal.
But I’ve heard the needle bearing “roar” and vibrate. And OP said it started internally after the lift.
2” is about all the needle bearing wants, 3” is stressing it.

But, it’s easy enough to diagnose that.

I immediately had this after my 2.5" lift was installed, and still do ha. I've got about 20k on the OG needle bearing, :headbang:. Some days are better then others.. I plan on doing the ECGS bushing soon whenever I wear out these OG UCAs too,:headbang:

Might help if people stop referring to an axle bushing as an ECGS. ECGS is a company not a bushing or bearing..

I used a long pry bar, maybe 3' from the opposite side (like a punch) and used a hand sledge, couple of taps and it pops out.

Ya try the prybar and hammer method and knock it out from the backside. Its kind of a pain if you try and pull it o slide hammer it. You just need enough force to slide the CClip in

I find a big ass screw driver, placed on the notches of the CV body, smacked with a 3 lb sledge, takes a few pops and a few rotations, feels springy at first, but eventually pops free. Shouldn't need extreme force, but hit it like you mean it.

I'll try again tomorrow. Doing this after work isn't helping either. Those notches are starting to look like shit too.

Yeah, take a break and come back. Fresh eyes always help. Those notches are there for that purpose, they'll be OK.

Be sure to rotate the CV as you go. Ultimately, you're trying to get the retaining clip aligned with the hole.

I use a pry bar and pry between the differential housing and axle.
It will bend the dust shield slightly, but that can be fixed easily once the axle is out.
It doesn't take a lot of force once you hit the "sweet spot".

The biggest thing is holding up on the axle. Don't let the weight of the axle rest in the differential.
Hold up on it while prying. This takes straightens out the axle and allows the clip to pop free "easier".

That’s not accurate at all. The “lift” didn’t need to be removed and the truck doesn’t need to be realigned.
