I'm looking to purchase the Archive Garage u bolt flip kit for my Tacoma. I would order option 3 with the bump stops.

Does this require removing the leaf springs to install? Or, is it just removing the bolts and stock bumps to install new parts?

You could swap them without even using a jack.

    All the things!
Easy as long as you have a decent selection of tools (wrenches and sockets) and a torque wrench. As others have said, just leave the truck on LEVEL ground and do one side at a time.

Edit: depending on the kit, you may need to trim the U-bolts with an angle grinder after the install...

no, just block the truck well, put the axle on a jack stand so you can get your head in the space you need to work better because removing the tire gives a ton of room. but not directly under the mounting plate! remove the 4 bolts... or if your truck is super rusty, cut with an angle grinder. if you have a block in the way make sure the U-Bolts are long enough to snug down, and get then bolts as even as possible.

okay after seeing this kit, don't put the bumps on the truck mounts until the last end! if they are like my Timbren flip kit. was way easier to get the bolts snugged up with the bump stop not in the way and then the bump install was super easy.

Thanks for the responses. I assumed it was pretty straight forward. I do all my truck work in my garage. Flat surface, wheel chocks, and all the necessary tools.

Is the reason you do this mod is to get more off-road clearance in the rear end nearest the tires. Is the overall new clearance higher than bottom of rear differential case? I don’t go off road except when hunting. Just curious.

Yes. Removes stuff that can snag rocks. Also, a lot of the bump stop upgrades require a flip kit.
