This Uber Eats order was on February 21st, and even though it was not going into Philly, but it still about 16 miles away. This is what got me in trouble on DoorDash with their bullshit "completion rate" policy; I would take an order after seeing what looked like a high payout, then unassign the order after realizing it was more than ten miles away. Luckily, Uber Eats does not penalize drivers for unassigning orders. In my opinion, customers should not be allowed to order from restaurants more than five miles from their location. Either that, or both DoorDash and Uber Eats should charge $1.50 per mile for orders that are more than five miles away. Believe it or not, the orders of 5 to 8 miles or less actually pay out pretty well, and it's orders like this that suck. If you like Alessio's so much, you should be willing to pay out the ass to have it delivered to Holland!

These were both on DoorDash this past Sunday (February 25th), within a minute of each other. The distance was not particularly bad, but a veteran Dasher like myself will look at these and tel you that the customer was either tipping less than $2 or not tipping at all...

These were both on on the morning of Wednesday (February 28th). They came in within a few minutes of each other, both were from the Wendy's in Doylestown, and both were headed to Newtown; I declined both...

There is a Wendy's in Newtown, so I have no why idea why the hell these people were ordering from the one in Doylestown; I have a feeling that they just select the first Wendy's that pops up, without any consideration for where it might be located...

This brings us back to the time a couple years ago when both me and my friend Doug got a request to take an order from the Doylestown Wendy's to a customer in Jersey; I also refuse to pick up orders at the Doylestown Wendy's because it is staffed by rude, egotistical teenage pricks...

Does “Incudes expected tip” mean that you are NOT guaranteed the tip?
Or just a rough guess of what the tip will be?

That just seems lower than snake pussy anyways. The IRS rate for mileage is at least 55 cents per mile if you deduct it, I want to say it might be 60 or 65 cents now. By the .55 rate times 16 miles is $8.80 just for your operating expenses both short term (fuel) and other stuff (general wear). So you'll profit roughly 50 cents for 45 minutes? FOH with that one

67 cents per mile now. I still rent cars when I travel for work. Not worth the wear and tear on my vehicle in many situations imo

Gotcha, TY sir. I rarely did but occasionally my part time job I would put in for mileage. Usually only if I did anything over 10 miles, that might have happened every 2 yrs.

So what's a reasonable tip? I usually do 20% (not that I order delivery much) but it sounds like that may not be enough if you have a fairly cheap order?

If a tip > 20% is the standard, go pick it up yourself

I don’t use delivery apps. Might order a pizza from Dominos directly to be delivered once a year.

I think I've gotten delivery once in the last year and it was because my wife was out of town and I was home alone with our then-6-month-old twins. So it was either pay a bit more for delivery or bundle them both into their car seats, bundle them into the car, get them out of the car and take them into the sandwich shop to get my food, somehow juggle both of them plus my food back into the car and drive back home.

You sir, are a good man.
I can’t take care of myself, let alone 2 six month old twins.

Some of today's declined Uber Eats requests; I absolutely refuse to pick up Walmart orders anymore because the pickup process is confusing...

Please pay at least a $1.50 per mile if you want me to even consider it...

This is the type of deceptive shit I'm talking about. All a driver on the go sees is an order that pays almost twenty dollars, but if you look closer, it's two separate orders from two separate restaurants (one was a Saladworks in Warminster, but I don't know the second one was) going into Philly. On top of that, it adds up to less than a dollar per mile...

I did get an order from the Saladworks in Warminster for $10 that going only a little over two miles away. While I was in the restaurant waiting for that order to be prepared, another order came in that was paying barely 50 cents a mile and going into Cheltenham, which is pretty much Philly; I declined it, and ultimately unassigned the local order because the Saladworks was packed and the order was taking too long...
