Going to be another beautiful day! 60-64* and a light breeze. I’ve got some tall decorative grass I might transplant to the back yard today. It invaded our front from the neighbor’s yard blocking the mailbox. I figure the mailman would appreciate me getting it out of his way.
I’m excited just to get my vitamin D today!
Everyone make this a great day!

I should sell it, haven't ridden it in years. Got a ebike and a motorcycle so it just sits in the garage. I did drain the fuel out of it the last time I rode it.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Got a cup of coffee in while she's still asleep. Refresh the ice bag and see how she's fairing in a minute. Doggo is happy to have a lap at the moment, so gotta make everyone happy.

edit update: awake, can move her fingers (so the block is worn off), and doesn't feel too bad!

That is going to be a mighty fine and sturdy work bench, @woodtickgreg !!

    Morning all:

Our area didn't get the wind they were predicting, but just South of here there are multiple road closures due to downed trees.

That wood really looks nice Greg, I never actually saw a chainsaw mill in use, and it looks like it could be a worthwhile investment. When I got my pine cut into boards the guy brought a portable bandsaw mill on site, but that wouldn't be feasible for doing occasional smaller jobs.

Another guy I was having a chat with yesterday said the same thing. So I guess I'll use up the Kingsford and give the lump a go.

These are ornamental, you wouldn’t want to eat the fruit on a dare. The bananas are small and are so bitter that even the squirrels and possums say no thanks. I think the trees must be 90% water, anytime we get near freezing we can watch the leaves turn into slime the next day but it hasn’t killed them yet. It takes 3 years for a tree to bear fruit and then it dies and new ones sprout up to take its place.

We had planned to leave tomorrow for a few days R&R up in the Sierras and a couple days at Lake Tahoe. I was also hoping to try out my new tires with the “SnowFlake“ rating and see how well they do in snow. Just cancelled those plans. Major storms coming across California starting this afternoon. The forecast for the Sierras next 3 days reads - heavy snow, blizzard and whiteout conditions, up to 10’ , thats 10 feet of snow at the ski resorts. Winds at the mountain peaks exceeding 100mph. Expect road closures of the major highways (highways 50, 80 and 88). Guess I wont be testing out my new tires this weekend. We decided instead to hunker down at home, read some good books, watch some movies and I’ll make my hearty beef stew and some homemade biscuits to have with it. Actually kinda looking forward to that.
Happy Sadie Hawkins day to any of you guys who are unattached.

Home made biscuits and beef stew sounds good to me... what time's dinner? The last time I went over Donner Summit I was towing a Caprice on a dolly, so no brakes on the tow. And it was blizzard conditions. They closed the pass right behind me, maybe a hundred cars getting through in back. It was dicey to say the least. The worst part was after topping the pass and starting to come down into Truckee. Yikes!

10 ft of snow , not good blizzard conditions, but I've been in more blizzards than I can count. Enjoy the time with your wife.
