I'm sure them doing 0 to 60 in 4hi in one of the other videos wasn't a good contribution

Why? There are people that have driven thousands of miles in 4WD. It’s meant to be used.

What TFL was attempting seems pretty tame compared to what Toyota was showing off in their own Super Bowl commercial.

Looks like Roman needed a driver-side, “my damn truck broke!” handle…

Oof. That TFL video showed light off roading for a mechanical failure to occur. I'll reserve judgement until we hear the root cause, but preliminarily it looks like the Tacoma could be a golden opportunity for the aftermarket companies.

Should we take a poll on what went wrong? I'm going with a broken axle.

And Andrei needs to learn how to drive that G80 locker. Every time he lets off the throttle the locker disengages, so he needs to maintain steady throttle input over obstacles. Roman was doing a nice job with throttle input when the Toyota failed, so props to him for good control.

Andre was beating on the Chevy much harder than the Tacoma to get over those rocks and didn’t have any issues. I don’t know why he didn’t drive back up and turn around instead of backing down the trail. That seemed pretty silly.

So it seems he said he went from 4hi to 4lo then gave it gas. Sounds like it was still engaging to 4Lo when he gave it gas. Interesting to hear the result.

I don’t think so. He was in 4lo at the start of the trail at the beginning of the vehicle.

Yeh I thought I heard he was switching to 4Lo from 4Hi. Ehh dunno. Just the wrong setup tire wise to wheel an icy snowy rocky trail.

Yeah because chevy is so much better , they currently have a stop sale on them . Also we don't even know what the issue is ,im not saying toyota is perfect but they do mention it is truck 340 off the line . 3rd gen had issues as well , we buy toyotas for the long haul , if it's an issue they will fix it and improve it . Could also just be a one off and no one else has the issue.

No new info. Hasn’t been up on a lift for a visual check. Hasn’t been to the dealer.

But the drone shots are beautiful. :D

We've got quite a few places down here, yes. Central Florida even has a bit of elevation/hilly areas, surprisingly. Citrus WMA is a pretty fun place to at least get some wheels in the air. Most of the stuff down by me is just swampy "boggin" type offroading that really isn't too fun.

that or I thought he said he went from 2hi to 4lo without it engaging all the way. so when he finally started to move it banged in a broke something, or in and out.

either way I cant stand the guy driving and his son, so it wouldn't surprise me if either one of them did something wrong.

Aren’t the Tacomas all being held at port too for some unknown issue. Also two big recalls for other Toyotas. Quality control on everything sucks since covid. It’s really pathetic.

That might be a spare tire issue lol . I saw a video where someone posted they don't have the correct spare tire .....but we don't actually know the issue
