Let's face it. Toyota is not what it once was, the Tacoma's are underbuilt, underpowered, made with cheap parts and are thrown together in Mexico by slave laborers. My 3rd gen looks good, but the quality is :poking:

I've never understood why they don't have more aggressive tires on their flagship model. I really don't.

Right. Still a cool looking truck but that sounds like a knocking tractor. I mean 3rd gen’s sound like a diesel sometimes with cleaning cycle lol

The sound in that video reminded me of a kubota tractor. I thought my truck sounded like a terrible ticking mess. It sounds great compared to that one

They negotiate a deal for cheap “all terrain” tires. They know most of the off-road enthusiasts don’t mind replacing them with the tire of their choice.

The TFL dudes were stupid to go into the mountains with those tires. They really demonstrate why I don’t watch YouTubers.

Those guys are like all the others, not true enthusiasts just making money reviewing and flipping the new thing.

Yea, but it’s also dangerous. They were clearly out of their element.

They've mentioned before that they test with factory tires. It's always held Tacomas back in their testing.

That’s like saying you are going to use the PSI on the door sticker and factory rubber in the rocks, sand, etc. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that doesn’t fly in a lot of circumstances.

If they are going to buy a truck, and film testing it, they should equip it properly.

Sorry, but they don’t act very intelligent to me.

I miss the sound of my prior 1997 Toyota Tacoma, both with and without the TRD supercharger the "new at the time" 3.4L V6 5VZ-FE had that precision sewing (yes, ticking) machine sound that I liked much more than the deeper roar of my 1991 Toyota Pickup V-6 3.0L 3VZ-E P that it replaced. The whine, especially with the added winding sound from the supercharger was so satisfying. I still miss that higher pitched whine, with my 2021 seemingly more 1991 than 1997. Will be interesting to hear the new 4G engine at some point.

Well than why doesn't Toyota put real tires on the vehicle they sell with the title Off Road? The truck broke on a hill you could tackle in a RAV4. Weak!

Fan boys are so delusional it's hilarious.

Yes, I did. You’re gonna tell me what I have and haven’t done now? Probably wasn’t good for it long term but it didn’t cause any problems, highly doubt that’s why the Tacoma were talking about broke.

What tires would you equip the OR with?

It talk very bad of the tacoma... it is an off road version... even with street tires, the truck should support. you can have inadequate tires, or very bad driver It would cause that you can not go up, but not that the truck just get broken... it is suppose to be unbreakable... and if it happen with this type of usage , how can we get bigger tires, this is going to increase the stress on the Axes... Toyota must communicate the Root cause of the failure...

Most automotive journalists test the vehicles as they are delivered from the factory.
