Next time say "no, please leave me alone".

Next time after that "I've asked nicely but I only do that once. Get the fock away from me!"

I'm all for being nice but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Or make her install your new mudflaps perhaps..

It was not a request for money this time; I was leaving my friend Helen's house with @Stitchgirl90, and a homeless woman started shouted at me from across the street, asking if I knew the way to a street I'd never heard of. She didn't come onto Helen's property, and she merely saw me and Amanda getting into the Tacoma, which was parked in Helen's driveway. I believe she was homeless because she had one of those roller suitcases and at least one other suitcase.

I have pretty much lived in Doylestown for almost 19 years, and I've been driving the streets of Doylestown for almost 13 of those years. I had never heard of "Mechanicsville Street" in nearly two decades of living in the area.

She further confused me when she asked if I knew where "125 Calvary Church" was located. The funny thing is that my girlfriend and I go Calvary Chapel, which is located on 202 in Chalfont and not in Doylestown; I don't even know the address of the church off the top of my head, but I do know how to drive there without GPS assistance.

I said that there was not a Mechanicsville Street in Doylestown, and that the church she was referring to was in Chalfont. She started getting a bit short with me, and I told her once again that that there was no Calvary Church in Doylestown and emphasized that I went to Calvary Chapel. She clearly was not all there, so I went back up to the house and beckoned Helen to help me out; I knew there was a "Mechanics Street" in Doylestown, and Helen confirmed this. I looked up "125 Mechanics Street" and it was less than a half a mile from the house. Helen pointed her in the right direction and she walked off.

I only know that this random person was female based on her voice, as it was dark out and I couldn't see her very well. Helen lives in a really nice and quite expensive neighborhood; Doylestown as a whole is a nice place, and not one where you expect to encounter homeless people with mental issues when you leave your friend's house.

Seriously, where are all these people coming from all of a sudden?!?!

Bucks County has had a homeless problem for years that is not immediately visible to the naked eye, and I doubt all of them are homeless. A good number of these people are in fact not homeless, but live in group homes or other specialized facilities, and are allowed to wander through town at designated times. That pesky woman in Gwyn and Amanda's neighborhood who walks around asking people for money is an example of this.

Last month, there was the guy at the Wawa on Main Street in Doylestown who was loitering outside the store and greeted me with a "How are you doing to today, sir?" In my experience, people only say that to complete strangers if they are selling something or asking for money.

Earlier this month, a homeless guy cornered me when I got out of my truck and asked me for money. This was in the parking lot of the Home Depot in Warrington. He almost got an ass-kicking because he didn't give me a good vibe and he not only got really close to me, but he was right next to my truck which had my girlfriend sitting inside, and he started touching the scrap water heater I had in the bed. Thankfully, I found that he is totally harmless after making a post about my encounter on the Warrington community Facebook page, and now know how to handle him.

Also, it's normally not in nature to ignore people, but I've found that this is the best course of action; I've told this story before, but here it is again...

It was years ago (probably 2017 or 2018), and I was running an errand for Puck. I was stuck in traffic on Route 611 while heading south, and there was a young guy walking north on shoulder, hitchhiking. It was a nice day, and I had the windows down; I made eye contact with this guy without even really thinking about it. He immediately started walking towards my truck, and I freaked out. Thankfully, traffic started moving, and I floored it before he got close to my truck. From a very young age, my parents told me that hitchhiking was illegal, it was dangerous to pick up hitchhikers. This is why I lock my doors at all times.

Years ago, a hitchhiker approached my mom's 1990 Toyota Camry while we were waiting in traffic on Horsham Road in Montgomeryville, just around the corner from our house. I was probably in kindergarten at the time, so this was no later than 1995; I remember this quite vividly because I was in the front seat of the Camry and had a perfect view of this dirty-looking man. My mom got very nervous and made sure the doors were locked. Thankfully, the light turned green and traffic started moving.

Hopefully I don't encounter any homeless people today; I'm sick of it!

I also my hands on this free 1980s GE range from Facebook Marketplace. The thing still worked, but apparently one burner was losing power and the oven heated unevenly at times; I scrapped it...

This was a decent stove in its time, and I had to guess, I'd say it was probably from about 1985-1989; I just backed right into the driveway and loaded it up, as per the woman's instructions...

It could be form the 1970s, but I'm thinking no older than 1983-1984...

Most ovens these days, both ranges and wall ovens, seem to have the heating elements on either the top or the bottom. This one had both!

It was even self-cleaning! What was weird about it however, was that despite having a glass door and a light, it did not have a viewing window...
