I appreciate the thorough response! I'll have to follow your lead on this. I spent a while researching it too and couldn't figure out a reasonable way to prevent back feed to the circuit on the truck and then tabled it.

Been waiting for warmer weather to do this project, and now is the time because this is as clean and dead bug crust free as my Tacoma is ever going to be.

What was all involved in completing this? I really need to get my truck done once the weather warms up.

Busy day today, got my awning mounted and finished my fridge slide.

Installed my Overland Pros Wraptor 1k awning.
I went with this one over the OVS 180 Nomad because it's 5 feet long so that means I can toss in my truck bed when I go on road trips, plus it only weighs 30lbs. Gotta save those MPGs some how. Then when I arrive I can remount it. I used nuts to hold the mounting bolts in place when off the vehicle and have a knob nut to get the top holes mounted then use a normal lock nut to secure the bottom bolt. It's pretty easy to get on and off quickly and hell of a lot cheaper than buying a Racksbrax quick mount.

Clean your truck really well, then both products just spray on and buff off. The surface prep takes longer to do than the hybrid ceramic coating. For the ceramic I found having 2 drying microfibers on hand for buffing works best because as one gets damp I hang it on the windshield wiper to dry as I use the other one. The finish instantly feels soft and slick as you buff off the ceramic, a bit of work to do 2 coats but immediately satisfying.

This hybrid ceramic gets great reviews and stands up to torture tests extremely well, which is nice because it's also inexpensive and made in USA.

Been awhile, but this was the day after I picked her up. Feels great to be back in a Yota, and even better is the 3rd pedal. Don't get me wrong, my 4th gen 4runner was awesome, but man am I excited to build out my Taco.

Got around to upgrading the floor mats to Husky's. Love the quality of these.

And finally got to stop driving around in a fishbowl. Went with Llumar IRX 25% tint on all windows, with the rear's tinted over the factory tint to try to get it close to 5%.

Not the best photos, but after doing a lease buyout, I decided to add small things to take better care of it. Just added the door sill protectors

my old boots are pretty worn from the lift. The red boots are made out of silicone. The boot slide mod is to prevent the ribs from further contacting each other on the inner cv! ….and the red boots also look bad ass kinda haha

20240301_164727.jpgGot it home and washed for the first time. Dealer was kind enough to leave that to me and avoid some swirls. One of the last few pros left in the country.

I got theHusky's in mine too. Much better than the weathertecks. You could have put 5% on the rear windows for a darker tint. Did you tint the windshield also?

Yea, putting 5% over the factory rears was an idea, but I was worried that'd be way too dark. Wanted to get right around 5% overall with the factory tint so I can still sort of make out things in the dark. No front windshield tint.

Still all in my head… but I’m keeping the chrome bumper!
Looks slick! Just my humble opinion but I’d throw some mud flaps on asap so those sexy doors don’t get all chipped up.
