The only salty one is you. Every post you make is about how bad the third Gen was. Remind everyone how long you owned a third Gen???

The Pacer was a fantastic design - no way were the cops going to sneak up on you.

Interesting thread.... I remember joining the forum in 2018 when I bought my first Tacoma and figuring out what kind of community is here. I quickly went back to pirate and ih8mud because of it. Worked out because the Tacoma was just a daily for me and not to be modded like the cruisers I have. Now that I’m buying a fourth gen to be a new daily, im back on here to learn about the truck. But I’m just faced with the same unproductive community.

I mean, there’s no hate or my truck is better than yours between the generations in the landcruiser forum.
    This is just getting stupid.

And I get it, Banter is fun, but some of you need to realize that we are all equally worthless.

Wait, you’re on mud and you’re complaining about a bunch of old men complaining about modern trucks being too fancy?

There's only a couple people here who own or plan on buying a 4th gen Tacoma, the 10 or so other daily posters are here to talk shit about it.

I did and still considering one and still have my deposit, and it went to no markup as the truck got delayed again and again and again. I'm totally chill, home boy came here to sh*t all over the 3rd gen and not have any serious discussion about the 4th gen and then wanted to say it was a "gold fish ugly chrome bowl" so I just simply called him out on his BS. Both trucks look good, both have their negatives and positives and we are early into the 4th gen to see how it all compares and most everyone here has been saying their qualms as well as the positives it isnt a bashing thread. It was civil till he decided he didnt like any criticism of the new gen and started trash talking the prior gen.

I can hate on the '24 also if you guys don't mind. Yesterday I was reversing along a mud ledge at the lake that I didn't want to slide off, I opened my drivers door to look down and keep an eye on the ledge, and the truck threw the auto parking brake on.

Later when I got home, I tried opening the door again while backing into my driveway, and yep, fucking parking brake. I'm not sure if there's a way to turn that shit off, but not letting me open my door while reversing is the nanniest bullshit I have yet to experience with this 4th gen.

Also, all ya'lls trucks are ugly.

Not everyone is salty; personally I like both of them just fine, I just think the '24 is priced too high for me. I dont care what anyone else pays for it. I'll stick with my fish bowl until it starts costing more that its worth.

I had a 1st Gen when the 2nd gens were newish, and a 2nd gen when the 3rd gens came out. This is par for the course; right, wrong or indifferent.

Also, prepare for a legion of 4th gen R*tards to come in/join and ask the dumbest questions ever for a while and the 3rd genners will laugh like their kind didn't do the same thing. The "dumbgeon" came to be for a reason in the 2016 time frame.

This, remember as well all the first new truck owners with the 3rd gen already see the same over on the 4gen site. I said this before in another thread in this section, everyone will hate them at first then most will eventually adopt them or move to something else or stay put. And just like the prior gen transitions, no truck is better or worse, just different and each had / has growing pains and strong suits. And everyone is entitled to their opinion, its just that, an opinion. I will say the bans went up like crazy during that time but think its become a bit more civilized around here than it was at one point. I remember alot of 2nd gen guys didnt even venture in the 3rd gen forums cause of the stupidity.

All Tacoma generations suck when compared to the Marty McFly 1985 special. Back when a Toyota truck was just a pickup. Still don't understand why the DeLorean was selected as the time travel machine when they had that truck on the set. Probably because it would have taken 120 seconds to reach 88 mph. Now I'm off to post in the Camry forums about Jesse Pinkman's Tercel :)

I had a black 1985 2wd SR5. It was my first new vehicle, and my first new car loan. It was a fantastic truck. Wish I still had it.

My son has an 87 4wd DLX (22r carbureted). He lets me work on it and test drive it occasionally. It's tough knowing that whatever truck I might buy it won't be as cool as his.

You should be excited about your new truck and I for one am here to listen to all of the 4G owners discuss their experiences with the new platform. I’m not here to hate on the truck.

here is my background with Toyota vehicles:
Current: 2023 Tacoma TRD OR DCSB purchased new September 2023.
Current: 2007 FJ Cruiser purchased new December 2007
Current: 2018 RAV 4 Adventure Edition AWD purchased new in March 2018
Previous: 2015 Tacoma TRD OR DCSB purchased new in February 2015

it was tempting to wait and get a Gen 4 2024 Tacoma to replace my 2015 Gen 2 Tacoma but I decided go ahead and pull the trigger on the last year of the Gen 3. No regrets on my decision and I look forward to hearing more updates on your new truck..
