i would check for hose at oreillys or napa or something like that. they should have bulk hose.

I don’t think it’s the hose that’s the issue, I think it’ll do it again with new hose. I think it’s a pressure thing between the hose clamp and the barb fitting. Not applying enough pressure.

well from your picture its either using the wrong size hose barbs and having to clamp down super hard to seal or the hose is balloning already from chemical degredation.

There should be very little pressure on transmission cooler lines, if there is then you have a restriction somewhere.

hmm. From what I’ve seen these built trans’s run at a higher pump pressure.

I have the clamps tightened down as tight as I’m comfortable with. I think my plan of action is to get a second hose clamp on each side of the line. I think that’ll get me through this weekend and back home.

Those style hose clamps also suck. You need this style

Cooler lines shouldn't see pump pressure, on the 4L60 it's bypass fluid that flows through the cooler and then goes back and lubricates the planetary gears in the back of transmission.

The lines are pretty firm when running, can’t pinch them. When it’s off they’re soft and can pinch them.

and not that it makes a difference but it is a 4L75e. I don’t think it’s relevant to the discussion though.

Can I get these at an auto parts store? I have all AN stuff on the way so no more clamps, but I need a solution tomorrow AM.

Pretty much the same transmission a little newer with some updates.

This guy has a ton teardown of videos on them explaining how they operate.

Looks like they have these at AutoZone. Will stop there in the morning. Should be good to go until I can redo all of this

Hopefully they solve your problem in the mean time, you can go way tighter on those without skipping

There’s 2 auto zones, 2 oreileys and a Napa in town so between all of them hopefully someone has what you need this morning.

Hard to tell from just the photo, but are the brass unions 3/8" on both ends?

No, it steps up to half inch to mate with the cooler. The new lines will be 6an the whole way

    Gonna hit them today.

The wife likes our airbnb so much she wants to stay here another night instead of camping at the cinders. Definitely still gonna go out there and play with the truck. What time are you guys going out tomorrow? I might just take a drive out there today and see what’s what and get the lay of everything.

It’s a very loose plan so far. But looking like tomorrow morning at some point. Happy to meet you out there later this afternoon as well for a quick run. Just got some things I need to work on first.

Cool sounds good! Just keep me in the loop, I’m down for whatever. We don’t really have a plan besides getting new clamps from AutoZone and getting food here and there:rofl:

I would’ve loved to stick with manual but I got this transmission with the engine and ecu. Also I was told manual transmission isn’t super awesome with a long travel. Something about shock load. Even a manual transmission would’ve probably benefit from a cooling system. I miss slamming gears in this truck.
