It's not really all that bad IMO, 120.00 for the kit. I did it because if I didn't jive with SS i could put the AXS system back on.
The only drawback is you have to use their cogs because of their design and they're aluminum and they only have 3 available currently...16t, 18t and 20t.

Right on. From what I’ve found, just to swap drivers to HG I’d be spending close to $100. A new (or used) wheel will be that or more.

Maybe I’m less google savvy than I once though, but there doesn’t seem to be many options available to set up an XD driver SS. Only other option I’ve seen is from Problem Solvers. I think it’s similarly priced.

I’d personally just swap cassette drivers. Easy. Less headache. Swap and be done w it.

I'm in no way a tire guru, but I've been running the DHF/DHR setup on the Bronson and been happy with it never felt like i was lacking traction anywhere.
Last fall had to do an emergency swap on a trip in WV and could only get an Aggressor EXO , but was very happy with its characteristics on the pine covered granite trails.
And for the local VA trails it works great, lots of braking traction.
But I also went with Forekasters F/R on the Izzo and mainly rode Northern Wisconsin which is very groomed. They have been holding up very well in the VA rocky/clay mix as well.
Granted I prefer fast rolling on the verge of grip, so take with a grain of salt.
    P.s. Forekaster/a
Aggressor on the new DV9 for general riding, but will be experimenting with light weight options for racing?

Unrelated to tires, anyone have a recommendation for freehub grease? Pulled it apart last night and very dry. Light coating most everywhere, but a few spots looked dry.
I have the standard white lithium grease but it seems a lot thicker consistency then what's in there now

Spesh Ground Control or Fast Track would be my vote for lightweight fast rollers. Such good prices too.
Dumonde Tech oil and/or Pro X grease.

I think I just did a dream bike thing. If it's a build kit but contains nearly everything you'd choose in a frame up build (some small tweaks), is it still considered a dream bike build?

I just used the dumonde tech oil in my bottom bracket b/c I didn't have any suitable grease on hand. This is what I get for working on the bike in my kitchen and not down at the shop lol. It's cool though. It spins like mad now w/o grease in there. I'll pull it again and clean in a couple months.

I'm hooked on cleaning the driveline w/ mineral spirits and denatured alcohol. My lungs are shot and generally get high from the fumes but man, it's worth it lol.

Cassette had about 4,500 miles on it. Everything came clean. Bottom bracket had probably twice as much and was finally showing (feeling) signs of it which is what initially prompted this in depth cleaning. The chain is soaking in the mineral spirits overnight. I'll do another shake on it tomorrow, final cleaning w/ the fuel and then give it a nice application of squirt before tomorrow afternoon's ride. Staying on the road as we just got soaked w/ rain all day long.

I also adjusted bars, re-wrapped bar tape, and re-positioned the levers.

Tomorrow I need to swap my front tire because....somehow, I managed to mount it backwards lol. I've NEVER done that before.

Then at some point during the week I'm going to bleed the lines and lube the levers.

Fwiw, if anyone needs direction on chain cleaning here's a step-by-step. Chain comes out perfect every time. I don't wax it, but might go down that road at some point this season w/ the road bike.

Has anyone ordered anything from Performance Bike (owned by AMain) lately? Legit? They have some specialized stuff I want but seems odd they are the only one.

I ordered stuff last year and thought their customer service was great. Shipping was fast. etc. No complaints. So unless something has changed since then, go for it....
