    bunch of stuff goin on
I had this same issue and tried everything, I found that my third brake light had been leaking and the water was getting in through there and somehow working its way all the way to the passenger side floor. Try removing it and applying silicone sealant to it. worked for me and was super easy

Sounds like it’s coming in the hvac inlet
It drips down just above the floor mat, and goes down under the mat

I don’t know how well slapping silicone is going to be versus replacing the cowl with updated part. Though that costs more.

if cheap and jury rig is the goal, a seal glued on might even work. But look ugly.

like a tailgate seal. I have one at the bottom of my tailgate running the whole width. It’s a flat piece of rubber that glues on. Something like that could in theory also be trimmed and used on the cowl to windshield gap to cover it up, but at the drawback of not looking good.

I just went thru a big ordeal with my rear carpet getting wet. I thought 3rd brake light too but so far (not done yet) I found both sides cab vents letting water pour in. I had to pull seat and carpet up and rear plastic covers behind rear seats, then pulled bed to reseal them. Not my idea of a good time today. Going back to recheck it later.

Good luck with your leak repair.
