I can use my magic rubber stick and it will take off some of the sawdust but I usually just chuck them too. I try not to use em much because they don't last long.

I almost trotted this one out a couple times today, but decided to let it slide.

    It's the weekend.

So skijor is pretty cool. There was one guy who put on a good show, he did a 360 over one jump, then jumped over the moguls and across the finish line on one foot. One person did have a pretty bad fall and took an ambulance ride, I hope they are ok. Then there were two people who ran big draft horses, which was my wife’s favorite part, she loves draft horses.

So, went to my wood supply shop today and picked up a board to make "Jenny's Biscuit Board." Small side project that doesn't involve much except sanding and rounding and a little lip on the bottom so when she's kneading dough the lip will catch on the edge of the counter and not let the board slip.
The finish will be mineral oil and bees wax over it since it is a food touching item.
Jenny is 78 and one of the nicest people on earth. I told her and Tom the shop gave me the board lol. It's a fun little project before I tackle the harder builds I have coming up.

I probably need to explain the finish part.
I take 4 parts mineral oil and one part beeswax, put it in a stainless bowl (i use a big dog dish) and put some heat to it. I do this in the shop with a torch because, you know, danger. As soon as I get it hot enough to melt the wax, I stir it up and start brushing the mix on the board. After a few minutes of doing this, I put it on edge and let it drain overnight. Then I take the beeswax left over and apply it like paste wax and buff it off. This lasts about a year and then you do it again. Thought some of you would be curious is all.

Seems like it would have been easier to just get a snow making machine or two.

What does any self respecting man do when a fresh contract has been agreed upon and he is flush with a couple extra nickels? Replace every light bulb in the house with 100w 5000k 1500 lumen led bulbs, light bill be damned. I can see! Dagon, those base boards are a little dirtier than I remember yesterday...

    Edit: reading is hard

I changed all the T8’s in my shop to LED, wow what a difference and it lowered the power bill a little. The brightness is amazing as well.

There is a ski hill not far from here where they can make snow. It does have to be below freezing though, and it’s a fairly expensive adventure I guess. Cheaper to have the volunteers drive trucks maybe? :notsure:
