Don't dilly-dally on getting it listed.
There's a lot of new inventory at the dealers right now. Much different than the last couple of years.
My big Deere is up at Gladhill and they're stocked. And I drove past Atlantic tractor yesterday and did a doubletake at all the green machines available.

Heck, I was up in Gaithersburg today and did a driveby at Metro Bobcat... they were swimming in inventory.

I think the high cost of financing is taking bite out of sales.

My wife saw a 24 Tacoma in Pennsylvania on her way home. She actually liked it. Cobalt blue I think the color was.

    Edit: Blue Crush Metallic

I drive by that truck all the time. I agree they look awesome, and have to admit that I have been considering one...non-hybrid since I'm not rich. :D

After seeing the new Taco at the auto show, I thought they look great in person. I'm having issues with the pricing for the new ones; it's like a $10k increase from '22 to '24 for my specific trim. That is too much of an increase for what you get in upgrades IMO. I've been considering selling my 6MT '22 since my wife can't drive it but as @fatfurious2 mentioned, those Tundras are looking pretty awesome (especially if I'm spending $50k+ on a new truck).

Agreed on the pricing. Aside from the welcome tech upgrades, the truck is a little bigger as well. It's 3 inches wider with the rear wheels moved back three inches and chopped 3 inches off the front. If I made any changes, it would center around a six foot bed. Just not sure I want to spend the money. I do want to go look at one now that they are starting to show up at the dealers.

This. If I'm giving up my manual, then I am definitely getting a longer bed.

If im buying a 24 Tacoma, id buy the base model 6mt. Im going to change things anyway. Dont need to pay extra for the specific trim

I'd probably just go with the off road w/long bed (auto for my wife). I like the trail hunter, but I shudder to think what the base price of that thing is going to be... The fact that they still haven't released the MSRP for the TH or Pro says a lot.

I'd be more inclined to go with the Off Road. I have had fun building this, but I'm not sure I want to do all it again.

It would depend on the overall use for me. Do I want a full size truck for trails? Here, and where we're planning to retire to, probably not. Road trips west, it would be nice. I plan on a hobby wood shop, and a larger bed would be good. Not planning on a trailer, so a larger truck isn't a necessity. Wither way, if I pull the trigger on a new vehicle, it wouldn't be this year anyway. Tacoma needs a year or two or real world testing and corrections, especially with the new changes (engine, suspension, etc).

I've grown increasingly skeptical of the domestic market, and I grew up on Ford as my dad retired there. Overall quality in the domestic market has spiraled despite the increasing prices. More and more you can't do anything to them without the dealership being involved. And with almost 127k on the Taco, my heat shields are still not rattling. Good luck getting past 30k miles with that on the domestic market, cars included. If I went full-size, it would most likely be the Tundra.

Yeah, I have the same domestic negative vibes as well. Every time I look at the Ford the back of my brain tells me I should just be looking at the Tundra. Both are crazy expensive, but I would rather have Toyota's reliability for warm fuzzies. My problem is I don't really need a full size truck, which is why I would rather go long bed Taco if I sell mine. The Taco is just so damned expensive now. I might look for a CPO 3rd Gen long bed OR...that way, most of my current aftermarket stuff can just transfer over to it. Ultimately I really want the LC250 here in a few years, so I may just end up trying to find an old, well-kept 1st Gen Tundra for truck purposes. It's practically the same size as the 3rd Gen Taco anyway, lol.

they are sweet, there is a blue limited in town with a slight lift and long bed, it looks great. I think they put a flat bed on it now too unless there are two different tundras here haha.

    I'd like to weight in......

My 19 OR has just been just meh, too me. and I don't really see me buying another one.

I've been looking at full size for years but have yet to pull the trigger, thinking my taco would suffice. That being said, Me getting off road has been pretty much nil for the last 6-7 years because of working weekends or on call status. So, having fun has ended for me other than the motor scooter, which will see more time out this year. I never did play in the Taco at all other than some very light runs on forest roads.

Back on topic.. The full size Fords (250's) are working in my favor. I have no issue with Ford at all. I drive a F450, diesel bucket truck a minimum of 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. Weekends on call equates to 12 days straight sometimes. The work truck has been fine with minimal issues, minus the normal wear and tear stuff. Going back in time and looking at a gasser... regular cab with a 8 footer, for a bed. Will this happen? probably not, as I don't want another big honkin payment.
Wifey keeps mentioning the 4 runner for herself, but has yet to test drive. This has been going on for months now. :annoyed: I'm coming real close to trading in the Tacoma on the 4 runner and saying, Here is your vehicle. :rofl:I'll still have the Jeep to drive on my days off. but that might go to the wayside (trade in) to the the full size truck. Will see on that one.. again, a payment I don't want at all.

    ~ramble over. Carry on.
