What way... the lip or the finish?
In my mind, there are three ways I can build something.
    1. Purely functional
    2. Purely for beauty
    3. Fully functional and beautiful
I have built things in all three categories. One of these days I will make a post of my "purely functional" simple builds, where pencil lines, notes and unsanded edges are the norm.

Couldn't agree more on the ladders, those days are over for me.

The garage has an 11 foot ceiling and originally came with hodgepodge wired 8 foot T12 fixtures - you screwed in the fuses to turn on the lights - and the outlets... :frusty:

During one of my electrical upgrades I ran 2 circuits on the ceiling in conduit with outlets every 5 feet in a "U" shape around the room. The Club had LED shop lights for about $17/each, I bought about 20 of them.

Speaking of chicken coops, we had some friends deliver a bouncing baby boy last night of almost 9 lbs, which they named Cooper. C names running strong these days...

Momma and baby girl are doing better, at this point it's the double ear infection that is killing my wife. Lots of sinus pressure, most everything you would get over the counter pregnant women can't take...

Yea, I did my shop lights last year and I told my wife no more ladders with only my feet touching the ladder.

You guys are right to be scared of ladders. My dad's best friend made it through 40 years of being an A&P mechanic, retired, falls off a ladder within 6 months and breaks his neck. He ain't ever gonna be the same.

The steels I’m using come already Annealed. The biggest problem I’m having is with this new fancy “super blade steel” that everyone loves. It can warp and move a lot more than most other blades steels, and it’s causing me to have about a 25% loss rate.

My thought was I could have my water jet blanks heat treated first and precision ground. That should eliminate the warp issues. Then I could hardmill the profile and the holes for the handle hardware.

I have done similar with some pesky 300 series that needed like 2 tenths flatness. It would warp like crazy. So we waterjet the blanks out of the sheet, also paying attention to grain direction, then I would sneak into it and get as close as I could, then if needed take to the surface grinder. So I think you might have some luck with that direction you mentioned.

So you guys know how people make fun of engineers right?
Well, we also make fun of these people. This was sent to me by one of my physics buddies.

My 10 month old dishwasher started leaking this morning. Time to investigate the door seal before I look into a warranty claim.
