Great success! Hopefully next week I get the new headlight assembly and that's all she wrote!

Got a Smitty Built basket off my Tundra in storage for sale if anyone here wants it. Will have to buy brackets to install. In nice shape, couple wear marks though.

I had my 23 taco dynamatted professionally at a pretty decent audio shop. I swear it made no difference on the inside as far as road noise went but was noticeably quiet on the outside when I played loud music compared to before!

I blame it on removing the rear seats, but still!

I've been in one and it did help but I also plan to go a bit overboard with it haha.

Removing the rear seats adds a ton of extra noise. When I put in my goose gear seat delete, I went back and did layers on both the back of the cab and the delete itself. there was way more noise than I expected so I went overboard

Because we're not allowed to work on personal vehicles during shop hours when no customers are there.

Best part is when I was walked out of the office there was a custom lowered Chevy on a rack AND a John boat and trailer in the rack next to it..... Other techs.

Told the boss he was a fucking coward at that point.

No warning, no talking to, no "let's review the rules and cut your pay to make up for it" or anything. They said they watched the cameras and blamed me for taking a lubetech off of a job too. I pointed out that he wasn't on a job. He just wandered over to see what I was doing.

Whatever. Ever since the second owner retired and sold his share of the company to the one guy, dudes been a complete prick. Found out he cut the show Forman position and that tech lost $6/he because his "extra services weren't needed".

Sounds like a typical case of finding bs excuses to get rid of people so they can temporarily boost profits while ruining customer service and experience.

seems way too many people in leadership roles only make decisions based of a spreadsheet made to justify whatever they want to do

Unexpected firings are a surefire sign of very poor management. In my experience, they're sometimes the "cool boss" because no one ever gets a talking to, then one day, someone is fired when they've had enough or need to let someone go. No one should ever feel like their termination was a surprise.

Couple of weeks ago we had a really really slow week in the shop. That pay. I only had a little over 40 hours on the clock. They tried to say that was the one bad thing during my quarterly review and I pointed out it's not my job to bring in customers. My job is to take care of the customers who get brought in. They didn't like that answer and I'm guessing between that and then looking for excuses...

Apparently another guy was let go after I was escorted out. And the former form and told me that he already had his application out at other places but was keeping a low profile about it because he didn't want to be let go before somebody else had accepted him. I told him that was probably a really good idea

First job I had in high school I had a review and they said I was doing good. Then like a week later they let me go and rambled off a bunch of stuff I wasn’t doing… I’m like why wasn’t any of that mentioned in my review?

The truth is, you got a raise after 90 days. So instead of giving you a raise, they would just find someone new to bring in carts and clean bathrooms

it’s fine though, I got a way better job 2 weeks later. Same thing happened when I got laid off in 2020, just took a little longer but way better job and more pay

People always talk about people living off unemployment money… all those people have obviously never been unemployed. It’s not even enough to cover food and rent.

you should get into the cement business like @Tigerian makes solid money for only working 9 months of the year.
