I run premium fuel with those coils . If I ran regular, I would drop about 1.5 to 2 mpg

    Interesting.

Im on premium SFOB running 94E0. Able to get stock MPGs (18-21 in warmer months) in my modified taco.

Would be ultra cool getting 21-24 haha

You know I read that many people had bad experiences with them and never really tried to work with ripp and get replacements. I luckily had a good set from the get go. I told ripp tech if they could possibly work out a deal. I commented on their YouTube video and their moderator said that was very impressive to get the miles I did get out of their coils . If not I'm gonna buy a new set regardless and throw my stock coils behind my back seat just in case .

Oh man If I was on stock tire size oh for damn sure I definitely guarantee you would see those mpgs . I drive hwy very much , due to work . With 315/75/16 and my mpgs I was getting people thought I was crazy guy lol. I live in optimal conditions, sea level and drive hwy speeds of 60mph . Especially with stock gears . I would like to say I built my own eco Tacoma that can hit trails also .

Man I wish we had access to more ethanol free premium around my parts . I have ran ethanol free and definitely noticed a difference. If I could that's all I would run . My brother has a Pacific pride fuel card and thats all he run in his 4-cylinder turbo Rubicon

    Awesome.

For the most part I hang out in the right lane and watch others trying to get somewhere in a hurry.

I also usually drive no faster than 60. My best MPG was 24.5 when my truck was almost stock except for 265/65/17 e load ko2s.

Now lifted, on 33s and carrying 350-550 of constant weight im still able to get 21, not bad at all I would say. Winter MPGs go to shit though, gets cold up here.

After dealers fill I ran shell 91E0 for years and now I switched to Chevron 94E0. I do not like ethanol in my gas tank at all, it doesn’t belong there.

E0 is available at every shell and chevron, very convenient. Has to be min of 91 octane though.

Yeah for sure winter months suck for mpgs . I'm excited though for the new taco. Well after all the bugs get figured out . I know that the ECU has been unlocked and we will have tuning access to the new tacoma , lol crank that boost lol. No really I think the new tacoma will be a beast with a proper tune . I'm sure we will be able to get way better mpgs than the stock settings. I mean look what we were able to accomplish out of a tuned v6. Very excited. I'll be keeping my 3rd gen . Too many memories

Yeah I’ll keeping my 3G till the wheels fall off. It’s paid off and does everything I need it to. I’ve had some interesting times in that thing too.:)

    IMG_0144.jpg IMG_3176.jpg

I was excited for 4G but honestly don’t see many improvements. Back seats still cramped, payload still sucks, MPGs are not impressive at all (hopefully tuning will help) longer wheelbase = worse off-road, less ground clearance, looks are meh and the price…

Give it some time my friend give it some time . Here is a winning concept . I believe I heard a YouTuber say that auto start doesnt shut the truck off when you open the door . I hope thats true . The new big ass display is a winner for me , but I ended up putting a joying 9in in my truck anyway lol. I have many plans for this new gen . I personally want to drive down to ott from Washington and have them custom tune the new gen. But that's a ways down the road . Well other than that bud I'm gonna get my day going I've been sick and Im running a new job tomorrow so gotta get ready for the work week. I'll be on tw more often now so I'll chat with yah later . Enjoy your day

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    My up-to-date chart:
    upload_2024-3-7_20-57-48.png

As happened with my '06, note the gradual increase over time.
I suspect 3 factors in play: 1) The alleged non-existent break-in period; 2) My driving habits adapting to the truck; 3) With the '21, the truck's adapting to my driving habits.
With respect to driving habits, I try to avoid short-duration trips, e.g. 2 miles & back to the post office. I try to make my trips all-encompassing by combining a number of stops resulting in longer driving time. MPGs don't peak until the drivetrain is fully up to normal operating temperature.

Luckily, I just discovered a new Exxon station just down the road from the grocery store we use that has 87 octane ethanol free gas. It's about 50 cents more than the 87 octane containing ethanol but I intend to start using it. I think I;ll search on puregas.org to see if there other places nearby selling it.

I just rolled 390k this week

    Rear main seal still leaking.

Little rubber cover that pops in the bell housing fell out in my driveway

Wow, impressive. Thanks for the update. Are you having to add any oil in between oil changes due to the RMS leaking?

Maybe you might be motivated to do a YouTube 400k update when that rolls around?

Not leaking that bad yet. No drips in my driveway. Only collecting layer of moist dust/dirt on bottom of bell housing where it bolts up to engine. Was about 1/2 quart less than what I dumped in between 5k oil changes
