I'm so glad TW doesn't allow political posts. Can you imagine how cantankerous the discourse would be....

Seriously though, anyone know which components in the 2024 driveline are the same as the 3rd Gen? (If any.)

Has anybody noticed they haven’t posted video of their MOAB adventure that happened before this?

    Plot twist…

I don't think it should have failed under those circumstances, but it did seem like roman was switching modes without being sure of the correct process. seemed like he was in 4lo diff lock then switched to 4 hi and 2wd after the break without letting the diff unlock. I bet cv broke.

Obviously. The point wasn’t the trucks it’s the driving/abuse.
Serious question. If I get a 4th gen and use it to tow my boat up a slippery boat ramp do I need to upgrade my drive train to not break anything?

Remove your tin foil hat. The Moab video has been up for 2 weeks.

So you’re saying switching modes after the breakage is what caused the breakage??? o_O

Serious matters that affect the lives of all TW members as well as the livelihood of all Toyota employees. There were also several Bridgestone commercials a few pages back.

I'm waiting on the results of what caused this.

I have been thinking it's about time to let my 1st gen go after 21 years and start over with a new 4th gen.

Toyota literally gave people a free track day when they purchased the car encouraging them to track the car...and didn't cover the motor when it blew...I guess you have different standards. I do believe after some of the bad press, they now have started to cover their cars during the warranty period for the owners that use the car in a way that they marketed and encouraged them to use it in.

All kidding aside I would wait a minimum of 6 months or longer to see what other issues this new 4th gen might have . It’s all a matter of tastes and preference but it is a good looking truck and I hope for the sake of all the new 4th gen owners that There isn’t anymore issues to come.

Never saw those guys spinning tires like TFL was. Honest question for you as an experienced wheeler, would you spin the tires that much knowing there's solid rock under you? I really only do difficult offroading for my job and that's not how I would have approached that "obstacle". Thanks.

I'm all for shitting on Toyota or any company if it's deserved, but I'm waiting for more evidence/information. And no, I don't think what they did should have normally resulted in a break.

Yup I was thinking about waiting for at least 6 to 12 months. I have some reservations about the 4 cylinder with a turbo.....

I think that would be a wise decision:thumbsup:
You also really need to drive and hear one since those 4 cylinder turbos will have a much different sound to them .
