That engine would be great for everything except interstate driving.

    Imagine the complaining on TW…

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Aside from the reliability aspect, I like the look because it's readily identifiable on the road. The domestic market is / was so focused on brand identity that every thing looked the same from the cars to the trucks. Ford really did that with the "tri-bar" grill a while back. Every model had some aspect of the three horizontal bars and every thing looked the same.

    My 2021 A/C has everything I need and nothing I don't.
It looks like a truck. drives like a truck.... must be a truck.

Gets me to and fro with no issues and can haul 'stuff'.

I don't like the look of the 4th Gen, time will tell if that Turbo engine will last, but I'm a practical man who
doesn't have the financial means to buy the latest greatest of anything.

Have you looked at the 4th gen thread? Before anyone except the design team had their butts in the seats, it was the worst thing Toyota had ever done. Wasn't even in production yet. o_O

I love my 18 Inferno. I wanted a MT and there were two on the lot, mine and a black ACLB. I drove both and kept looking at the Inferno. My salesman said "I'm just going to park the AC. You're not going to buy it." I asked him why and he said "You keep staring at the Inferno." He was right. But I would have liked the 6 foot bed.

They actually brought the manual back the SR trim, but can only get it in the DCSB. For a true Toyota nutter enthusiast, it should be available in the XtraCab, if they are going back to the 90s with that cab configuration it should damn well get a manual trans too. ;)

Of course the way things are going, there will be a day when we won’t be allowed to drive our own vehicles. Hopefully I’ll be dead by then… ha!

Yeah, I paid off my '16 right before I got hit with a COVID layoff in 2020.

I love my truck, she's getting a tune and maybe a high clearance rear bumper this summer.

I was talking about the interior :) But I do agree with you regarding exterior looks.

Besides the huge ass front end, 3G looks really good. 6 years later I still look back at it after I park it.

I don't think the new Tacoma looks bad but it is getting harder to differentiate between a GM and the Toyota. Gen 3 Tacomas can be picked right out.

Ever seen a Fab Fours? It’s comical! My personal fave is local to here in Idaho, CBI. (Bottom pic)

Still waiting for the darn field tech. I’m hoping this week or next. Just seems nuts that they don’t have more field techs to cover such a large area

I just picked up my 3rd gen. I'm coming from a montero limited so I resonate with some of the comments talking about upgrading to a newer year rather than continually fixing the old rig.
That said, I despise the trend of big massive tablets on dashboards and screens instead of traditional tach/speedometer gauge clusters. I'm not sure how this is supposed to make the new gens better

It isn’t terrible. Though the DCSB looks like chubby kid who loves cake. The DCLB is more balanced now…which is odd since the 3rd Gen DCLB appeared unnaturally long and narrow. Maybe because the 4G is wider now???

Still beautiful trucks. Not bashing it. I might be a buyer right before the Gen 5 comes out with the 2 cylinder, hot wheels 18V hybrid system. By then Toyota will have worked out any known flaws.
