    Good Lord.

Looking at that PCB immediately brings to mind "law of diminishing returns".

Swapping out the "Ice Blue" SMDs would be a job and a half, and getting those solder points right even more daunting.

    Red lights ain't worth it.

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
I hate reviving an old thread, but how did you get the needles off? The soldering I can handle, but those needles seem to be on there TIGHT!

Very, very, carefully. They'll slide right off.

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever find out what LED's it takes? It sounds like the instrument cluster uses SMD 3528, correct? Do you know what size the small rectangular ones used in the climate control panel would be?

Just finished the gauge cluster. Confirming that 3528 leds worked for me. For all of the other switches I used 1206 LEDs. Hope this info helps anyone looking to do the project.

If you’re changing just the blue and white, you’ll need 20 led total.

speedometer side has 10 LEDs total:
    5 leds for the numbers
    3 for the needle
    1 for the fuel level
    1 for the small needle

tachometer side has 10 LEDs total:
    4 leds for the rpms
    3 for the needle
    2 for temp
    1 for small needle
