So I was on the 101 for you locals when the freeway came to a nasty hault near the Balboa exit, west bound. I decided to stick with it while nearly everyone was panicking for the exit. I kept cool…which was the right thing to do! It lead to a large opening, no traffic near the off ramp but a single lane. A fairly good drop for those of you who are familiar with this exit. I crept up to the embankment and told meself…”You’re either going to look cool, or look like a fool. I went for it hoping and praying the front end wouldn’t cave up!!! Well…I went three wheeling and looked cool doing it :rasta:

News Flash! Spike in sales for the 3rd Gem Tacomas in the San Fernando Valley, lol

Toyota USA, let Japan build the Tacos again por favor!

Now time to play at Hungry Valley.

Personally, I think the half shaft was damaged already and this was just the "straw that broke the camels back" scenario. Anyone that has gone with us has seen times when we start on the obstacle with 40's and finish with 37's (or it might seem that way).

I really didn't think that would have broken a shaft with that little bit of wheel spin had it not already been fatigued.

Whatever broke, it likely wasn’t the transfer case

no im saying it didnt seem they knew how to operate the truck correctly, for all we know it could have been trying to engage or disengage something and got shockloaded. still doesn't excuse it breaking.

I just can’t even get over how delusional or entitled someone has to be when they think that motorsport or using a vehicle off-road is expected to be covered under warranty.

This reminds me of the kid who thinks that his action figure actually came with a playset designed by Hollywood miniature builders.

So...If you purchased a 4x4 truck at the dealership and the salesman presents you with a coupon for an afternoon at a off road course endorsed and organized by the manufacturer and while driving along inside this course with your new off the lot 4x4 truck, the motor eats itself, you wouldn't wonder if that was covered by the company that sold you the vehicle and the complementary day at the course that they endorsed and organized and used as a marketing tool and bonus for purchase.

The mental gymnastics and conclusions some people come to makes me wonder about the future of humanity sometimes.
