Thanks. I’d rather waste three hours than $150. My time isn’t valuable.

Who all is your trash service company?

    I have Republic Services.

Every fall and spring there’s a yard waste pick up service, curbside, for free.

Once a quarter you can schedule a large/bulk item pick up, curbside, for free.

This past year they’ve picked up a couch, mattress/box spring and broken cabinet thing from me.

How much is the service per year & do you have recycling?

It’s all done through my city (obviously negotiated services) and rolled into their awful invoice format.

This is my Republic Service service:

    (1) smallest trash can (weekly pick up)
    (1) largest recycling can (biweekly)
    (1) largest compost can (weekly pick up)

Free quarterly bulk/large item pick up
Free spring/fall yard waste pick up

I think it comes to around $25/mo

Now that I think about it, you can also put your yard waste in the compost bin and it gets picked up weekly.

That’s stupid. Are you paying them through your city? Or just an individual account?

Well that’s why it’s so expensive.

22 years ago my property taxes were $900 a year.

Now it’s “using the whole fist today, doc?” per year.

Colorado Springs is like that too. Household utilities (gas, electric, water) are run through a public utility company (with a single combined bill) but trash is a free for all.

On collection days my neighborhood is overrun with trash trucks because every block has bins from at least three different companies. I don't care about the politics of public vs private. From a purely logistical perspective that's ridiculous.

My bill is currently $130 every 90 for trash and recycling. I don't know the terms beyond that because the provider I signed up with was acquired and the collection policies seem to have changed. Price seems to be about the same no matter the provider.

I’m waste collections & it’s with recycling $350 a year. WM is by me & waste collections wanted to raise my bill. I said I’m going to switch & then they said it’s cool @ $350. So no increase last Sept

Denver does our trash/recycling pickup and they have extra trash day every six weeks or so. They’ll pick up furniture, mattresses, etc. Cherry Creek recycling center is the bomb (when it’s open) because you can recycle cardboard and yard waste for free by the truck load, no trailers. I need to see when they’re opening back up again. The sign says it’s closed for construction but I think it’s because of the budget deficit. I’m not sure how a paved parking lot with recycling containers and a truck you put yard waste in needs any work.

We have Ram Waste in our neighborhood. Fees are through HOA. So doubled eff'd in my house.

I usually frequent the landfill and it's pretty cheap to do so (finished a basement, room remodels, back yard, garage build out in the last ~year). Seems like recycling old bed mattresses is on par with paint and electronics disposal, though.

It has been a shit show at home since just before Christmas: my dad passed, my MIL passed, someone cut our tree down, the house won’t sell and our old dog has dementia and sundowners. I love him but he’s a PITA after 7:00pm.

I had to get out of here for a bit today and headed to a hand wash place in Aurora on Havana. Had the truck washed and waxed. It needs a lot more paint correction but it looks a lot better.
