Seems this would be implemented to save lives which is more important than a technical inconvenience. I highly doubt it would shut the vehicle off if someone is drinking while driving. I heard little about this and it's mostly on initial start up attempts when trying to use the vehicle.

What about all the other ways you could kill someone while driving? Drugs, texting, speeding? Might as well just ban driving.

Let's start with drunk drivers first.

I used to take a Honda S2000 to various race tracks and while it's not as bad as your bikes, it still all adds up

I don't know about the drinking and driving thing, but the monitoring your driving is coming. Whether it's through the government and their oversight or your insurance company at some point what you can do behind the wheel will be limited. You just won't be able to go over the speed limit. Besides that as traffic violations add up you won't be able to get insurance. It's coming, not a matter of if but when.

Hondas are very well rounded bikes and I also had a 954rr if my memory serves me correctly. I really liked the 900rr I loved the look with the smaller tire in the front. Here is my Honda CBR 1000rr I recently sold.

Yup it's a fun car. It also has one of the best feeling gearboxes I've ever felt as well and it was reliable during my ownership.

I love how New Formula Red looks on the S2K. More than my Silverstone (silver).

I’m partial to silver but that red did look wicked on that car.

Yeah don't get me wrong I still like the silver (even though it's the most popular color for the S2K), but it would have been sweet if it was red.

That unlocked a very fuzzy memory.

In the 1980s I picked up a neighbor's copy of Car and Driver magazine. The back page article was a fictional view of the looming future - it centered around a driving enthusiast and his antique 5-speed gear-rower that was growing exceedingly rare. These days it seemed, he had to find very remote back roads to run it unseen, that was the only safe way to enjoy the little convertible. Soon enough, he does encounter a group of young folks in their modern behemoths, mostly automated, fully crash proof. Boxy things, they're about the size of a tool shed. They like to run down the small cars for sport. That's how the article ends, the kids win by plowing this poor old senior and his little car into oblivion, to their laughter.

It was basically an article that even amongst full peak-oil panic, predicted the death of the "joy of driving" sportsters in favor of giant, emotionless A to B SUVs.

Kind of funny how much that article predicted. But that always stuck with me. The vast majority of people don't enjoy driving. They just want an effortless A to B machine. And whether it's fully automated or fully monitored, that's another step towards that vision.

What is puzzling in the video... as soon as something pops, the front suspension drops 3 or 4" in height but the tires did not move fore or aft.. That seems odd to me. Can anyone offer an explanation?.

essentially the drivetrain loading acts on the suspension and rises it up, as soon as it breaks, it falls back down. It’s talked about a lot in suspension design, watch a trophy truck accelerate off the line and the imagine it breaking, it would fall back down.

antisquat I think is the term

Edit, might be anti lift when talking about the front.

Trophy trucks are rear wheel drive only.. I watch them at Glamis all the time when I ride my moto there. Some trucks out there even run swing arm rear suspension similar to a drit bike.

    https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1n1VU1L59k/

I've never had my 3rd gen driveline load up and raise the clearance and front end up beyond normal ride height at crawl speed or with all tires hardly spinning at a stand still.

Why did the Colorado not load up the front suspenion when doing the same thing?

.. I've got over a 1000 miles alone just in CO offroading all over the state in my 3rd gen and another 1000+ in my former 1st and 2nd gens. that dropping of the front suspension at pop seems odd to me..

Tire rack reviews among others and just looking at the tread pattern. A tire I would expect to see on the SR not the TRD off-road.
