177,000 miles and today or yesterday my rms is going out in my 2017 not excited at all . I dont have the time or the place to perform the repairs. So far its a slow leak . I took a look through the inspection hole on the transmission bell housing and yeah up by the center of the flywheel where transmission meets engine you can see slight liquid gold. FML So for sure im having a dealership work on it just have to shop around dealerships near me to the best price i can get for this repair. Uggggghhh not the christmas present i was wanting .

Someone I know asked if I tried high mileage oil. I said no . They wanted me to do a engine flush with high mileage oil and drain and do another thing of high mileage oil . I looked threw the inspection hole on transmission an it's a very slow leak

Some people, just can't be pleased... sounds like OP thinks because he overpaid for a Pro, that nothing should ever break, fail, or wear out. Hope he never buys a BMW, Mercedes or any other European make lol...

This particular RMS has been in use by Toyota since roughly 1988, just about every 3.0 - 3.5 liter V6 has it. Depending on the application, the part number has of course changed over the years… slightly different designs and materials. 92 x 110 x 8.5 (maybe 9.5, don’t remember exactly).

Well I changed my oil tonight to high mileage oil. Probably gonna run for a 1000 miles and change oil one more time and then possibly starting 3,000 mile oil changes.

Gotcha, I was going to say that Amsoil is pretty good for a flush.

Give what a try? High Mileage oil or engine flush? Absolutely no need to flush if changing to a high mileage oil. If leak doesn't stop after a month of high mileage oil then use an additive. Like one of the top 5 rated ones mentioned here: https://youtu.be/fqD4Ha766w8?si=cmEIdd3aRgascndP

With 0 20W oil the head passages to the valves etc are probably microscopic so I don't think I will be trying to clog the holes. Just thinking maybe the highway milage oil would maybe help flush a bit of sand etc out of the seal? I am just thinking out loud...

My RMS started seeping around 20k miles on my 2018. Caught it early, got it fixed under warranty, no problems since.

    Sand?

There's no magical oil or fluid that will make a leaking seal stop leaking. Just fix it
