I finished the load and no more water came out so I'm hoping the door seal just wasn't seated correctly.

I told my wife I was about done with dishwashers. She said "if you want to wash everything by hand, go ahead."

We yanked our dishwasher when we bought the house. Both of us hate bending over loading and unloading. Put a wine fridge in it's place.

I wouldn't be surprised. I've got extended family that rents vrbo/airbnb's in Mariposa/Midpines, CA near Yosemite. Last I heard it was around 4k a year with home and fire coverage. They had to go through the state insurance pool, because no insurance company wanted to offer them fire insurance. :bananadead:

My home insurance jumped $600 last year in AZ to 2k a year. :annoyed:

My current one is a Maytag.

I just unloaded it and inspected the gaskets and nothing looks out of place. Hopefully it was a fluke but I'll be keeping my eye on it.

Ours would leak only if you close the little cubby thing that the dish....pods :notsure: go in, if you put a pod thingy in there and left the lid open it wouldn't leak. o_O
That dishwasher was over 32 years old; we just got a new one a few months ago, I'm surprised it's still running.

Our first house had an old Maytag in it. That thing could take the chrome off of a bumper. Or at least dried on oatmeal off of a bowl.

I had two dishwashers from 1989 to 2019. I have had the original one since we moved in five years ago.
As far as insurance costs go, it is a very complex algorithm they use to determine the cost. I'm not 100% sure, but here is how I think insurance companies figure your cost:
    1. Are you a low risk or high risk demographic
    2. Filed a claim recently
    3. Your location
    4. Your status (married, etc)
    5. Your credit score

Funny thing... When I moved from WV to SC my insurance dropped substantially, with nothing but location that changed.

Now, are they ever going to admit this is how they do it? Not a snowball's chance is a hot location. Hopefully you catch my meaning as to how I think they figure cost to insure.

Insurance companies discriminate more than....regular people. :notsure:

Too old? Yeah, you're paying extra for medical insurance.
Too young? Yeah, you get to pay extra for car insurance.
You say your young and a male? Yeah, we're gonna double down on your car insurance....hold my beer and watch this.

Its a joke, I try my best to screw them anytime I can. Which, unfortunately, is rare.

    Side note:
Why do they care who is driving the car? You pay insurance for the car, not the person driving it.

    Side note part 14, section 11;

When my kid moved to Philadelphia to go to college the insurance gal asked me if he would be coming home during the summers. o_O
I was like...why do you care?
She said because if he came home that would mean our auto insurance would increase while he was here. o_O
So I was like...its a 2013 Accord any way you slice it.
    So my answer was....no.

Simple risk management is why. And yes, they want the least amount of risk for the highest premium they can get. And, pretty sure they know my shoe size, along with all other data about me.
Although, it's nothing personal. It is about making money and that is it.

The new ones are not like the old ones, they run longer use less water and don't last as long. Check the lock on the door, it may be suspect.

Ok NC insurance companies have asked for a 99% increase in rates depending on where you live. Coastal 99% and down to 4% in the mountains.
