Very nice work......you are giving me ideas. What do you shoot and what optic do you use for the 500 or 1000?

I have 3 or 4 pieces of 4" angle that are about 6" long 3/8" thick if you want them.

    Sizes are something like that

Out to 500 (for target shooting) I have a pretty good time with a 5.56 rifle barreled for 77grn SMKs, beyond that it's a .308 Win that I'm going to maybe, someday, change over to .260 Rem if I ever shoot enough to burn up the current barrel.

Both rifles have the same glass, P/N #PA4-14XFFP from Primary Arms, a 4-14x FFP mildot reticle with a 44mm objective. Are they as good as a Nightforce? Fuuuuuuuck no. But at $300 (225ish when I bought mine years ago) I've been behind plenty of scopes that cost way (3-4-5x) more that aren't nearly as good. I originally grabbed one just to shoot the 5.56 while I saved for "real" glass, but I haven't needed to upgrade, and I have some stories with that rifle. The first shot my brother ever took with that rifle he nailed a Coke can at 415 yards and immediately called dibs on the gun if I die first. We used to go out to this range that went out to about 525 (built in an old strip mine, the last berm was at 500 but the back wall was 525) and pop party balloons and paper plates on the back wall all day.

I've never had any problems with haze, bad light, or distortion. If I start having real issues as I push out regularly beyond 500, I might consider nicer glass for the .308 but otherwise, I'm perfectly happy with them - much rather spend that money on ammo if I can get by with what I have.

Yeah, that is code. No idea why water main is different.....

Nice. I've only got 1, 5.56, and it's not for long range. 62gr, and a HWS. Light and simple.
    I prefer my .308s.
I have a Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 on my 26"barreled 700. Just nowhere up here to really stretch it out.
Won't say Im jealous of your spot up there....
    Oh, wait... yes I am...

But, I have not seen any actual issues with PA stuff. Was contemplating a MicroPrism from them for a bit.

I can't justify NF... so.. not even on my radar..lol

Speaking of which @crashngiggles, probably heading to join up at your spot next month, a bit closer than mine.

Some of PAs stuff isn't worth the cost savings, some of it is real diamond in the rough stuff. I particularly like one of their red dots, the 30mm guy with the claimed 5 year battery life and hard click side knob. No idea if they last that long, I just change the batteries on my birthday on the two I keep lit. One of them has quite a large volume of 12ga on it with no issues whatsoever, and a couple of mine and a couple on buddies' setups have held up to a lot of banging around.

Why can't the Tacoma armrest slide like my wife's Subaru?? This would make the armrest sooo much more comfortable.

Plastic weld and vinyl dye. I'm considering trying to chop my console and make some fiberglass door cards.

Unrelated, anybody ever fuck with one of these? I was surprised by the quality of one of the wall-less 10x12s or whatever it is, and I'm eyeballing this as the outer shell of an expedition-style tent while I build, and later vehicle bay.

Yeah, I did a ShelterLogic from Tractor Supply. The size I wanted was only online and it shipped from Georgia, I was a little afraid it wouldn’t hold up to snow. Just finished its second winter and it’s doing ok. I mounted it to 4x4s and ground screws, longevity seems to be helped by a good assembly. I laid down cheap house wrap on the floor and was planning on dumping a load of stone but my buddy sold his dump truck before I could borrow it again. It gets super humid in there, the dark color heats up and sucks moisture out of the ground.IMG_2257.jpg IMG_2265.jpg IMG_2268.jpg

I'm pretty sure I saw one of these in a lake on the way to umass today. Probably the wind last week. At first I thought it was a flipped over boat.
