Here is a video explaining some suspension terminology around a 4 link.
The 4g has a 4 link now, all these principles apply directly to the rear.
A undesirable anti squat, will squat the rear suspension too much under load, raising the front.

Yes! And then we'll move on to the gun owners. We don't need weapons of war on our streets!

This is what I think happened. An axle snapped right off at the case.

An admin at Tacoma 4G contacted TFL, sounds like the front driveline.

"It got dropped off at the dealer and within an hour the front driveline was off the truck and shipped to Toyota to diagnose."

I found some old pics of my wife's base-model Forester tackling the abusive terrain of the TFL test trail (this is about 100 yds up the trail from where the "incident" occurred). I would rank its performance slightly behind my 3G Tacoma, but obviously well ahead of the 4G since it completed the trail.

I agree, the Forrester is clearly a superior offroader...and it is not even the wilderness version...imagine what you could do with that one!!!

I don't know, if a part breaks on a new or fully redesigned truck I don't think it's abnormal for that part to be inspected by Toyota or any other manufacturer. I would bet the Tundra engines that have been replaced have also been inspected and even if a fault is found we won't here about it with the Tacoma or the Tundra but a change in part or production will happen. The only thing TFL did different than another customer is bring attention to the process, even thoug the process is the same we would all go through.

Sounds like something Toyota would do anyway. The facts will be scrutinized whatever they are revealed to be.

I think it would be wise for Toyota to tell us when the Tundra engine issue is straightened out. A lot of people aren’t buying one because of that potential catastrophe.

4 days! And still no follow-up from TFLoffroad!
Not even a short of them driving it onto a lift!?
Milking it or negotiating the terms of a YouTube video?
Sometimes, Monday kind of feels like Friday.

Yeh dunno why they wouldn't update. This seems like an important part of the saga unless they are editing the video.

It sounds like from the post up above a bit that it is at the dealer and they are waiting to hear from Toyota. I’m sure they’ll post a video once they know what the problem is and get the truck back.

Agree w/ all on how weak that failure looks, but .. sadly I don't expect Toyota, the dealer, or TFL to explain anything about the failure after diagnosis - dealer only owes a repair/replace, and TFL knows which side their bread is buttered on (Hawaii is nice) ... Toyota isn't worried about sales (yet) knowing how few actually wheel (or follow TFL) on percentage basis - and I doubt Toyota worries too much about the feelings of a few gaikokujin.

It must be more than just a CV Joint as many speculated, if the dealer pulled the entire front driveline down.
