awesome picture. Those mid rise toppers like the one you have are awesome. I would've bought one, but couldn't justify paying 3500+ for a new one. Instead, I found a flat one barely used for about a thousand less, like the blue one on the left. Still great!

I can't emphasize enough how good these Solar Octane taco's look in a sea of whites, greys and blacks.

Power washed the exterior, undercarriage and the husky all weather floor mats yesterday. Also, wiped and dusted under the hood.

Got some cheapo flood lights that are aimed sideways and backwards, going to see if I like the setup before shelling out the big bucks for some Diode Dynamic lights.

Mounted the passenger side lights to my 1Up bike rack using a 1.5" aluminum spacer. For the drivers side I custom made a bracket, just gotta wait for the paint to dry.

Got the Prinsu Pro mounted up and the lightbar. Still need to adjust the light down a bit. PIA, a lot of the crossbar threads har burrs in them so starting bolts was a pain. Should have ran out for a tap. IMG_0757.HEIC.jpg

Decided to wrap the hood in matte black to reduce glare. Did it myself, first time trying to wrap. Is it perfect, no, are there a couple minor wrinkles, yup. Still overall pleased as I knew there was a 50/50 chance I could do it at all and knew 100% it wouldn't be perfect. $90 for the roll, cheapest place I could find $300 so I'll live with it until I get it redone professionally. I've also been running this since mid February with no real problems or lockups. My only complaint (other than the slight start-up delay, but whatever) is that my maps (Android Auto) seem to be pretty delayed in switching to night mode - well after my headlights automatically turn on.

I haven't timed it or tested in any particular way, but twilight was ~6:36 tonight and I just got home (~7:50) and the maps were still in blinding daylight mode. However, this is my first go with Android Auto, so this could very well have to do with my phone (Pixel 7) or the Android Auto automation and not so much the unit itself.

Edit: Confirmed - this day/night thing seems to be a common issue with Toyotas (so far I've seen accounts from 4Runner and Rav4 owners), so I'll be trying out their remedies.

I get what he is saying. The desire for perfection makes me see EVERY SINGLE flaw in my work.
