Yeah, buddy of mine is a SERE instructor and the lmf2 is his knife of choice...not a "killing blade" but perfect for survival

I have the lmf 2 knife. I havn't really got to test it thoroughly, but it seems like a great knife. Very solid/sturdy, great feel to it.. I'm satisfied with it

The Bear Grylls knife is pretty much a Gerber Prodigy knife with a different grip and sheath. Smaller than the LMF2 it really just depends what you need/want.

I personally would not get the Bear Grylls knife. If you want a sturdy Gerber knife that is smaller than the LMF2 then go for the Prodigy.

i heard there were a lot of problems with the grylls knives... but i also heard gerber was revamping them - so not sure if the current ones are the new or old ones.

Yea I'm noticing that they are on the cheap end of the spectrum. Never again! Their Customer Service did finally call me and said they would repair or replace the unit. The guy said this is only the second time this issue has ever happened

I just have to pay shipping there. It'll be a nice backup stove I guess.
