I was able to fix it super easily. I consulted my trusty instruction manual that came with my HU and my code is 8888 (Android 12 version). I changed the Canbus setting from Raise>Toyota>TOYOTA to Raise>Toyota>TOYOTA (AMP). Pretty obvious to do since I have the stock JBL Premium soundsystem that comes with the amp. Fixed my volume issue right away. I also was able to turn down the default Radio sound from 10 to 1 and it made it sound wayyyy more clear instead of grainy like it was.

Has anyone had any luck Tethering? I would love to use CarPlay and some of the apps that require data but seem to have to choose between one or the other and not both.
I could get a SIM card but it doesn't seem like ATT will work that well?

Does the Android 12 have any better of chances getting signal using ATT?

For Joying Android 12 units, I'm able to tether via hotspot and use wireless AA on my S22 Ultra.

Has anyone noticed how the Android 8 version of this head unit has decreased significantly in performance in the last month? I find that my iPhone disconnects when driving a lot more than when it used to.

I tried updating the software a while back but the head unit didn't register the usb or was already up-to-date. Hard saying.

I can’t get tethering to turn on; on my current unit that is running 10.
    I wonder if it’s new for 12?
I also can’t get it to work via usb.
It tries and gives an error of some sort but does charge via the USB.
I’m considering trying the newer unit or going Pioneer and giving up on the Joying?
It’s a great unit but connecting something takes a min or so, it’s just finicky?

Can you try to change settings on auto lock on drive and auto unlock for park and see if that works?

I have a 2023 Tacoma with the JBL setup and premium package, 360 cam etc.

I've read through most of this thread, but I just got this head unit, and the harness I was sent didn't work, so I ordered one off Amazon that says it is for JBL setup and 360 camera. Does anyone know if that will be all that I need and everything will be plug and play?

ETA: I have the latest Joying unit, 9" 8gb model, "Type B"

    Thanks in advance

ETA PART 2: Reconnected the harness and everything again and all buttons up as should but the unit doesn't power on at all. Checked fuse on unit and all connections, held in reset button and unit does nothing. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was able to get my unit powered on by running external power to it.

Now the audio is super low, muffled, crackly and with static. The left side steering wheel controls also do not work.

I've tried changing the canbus vehicle setting a few times to various models and have had no luck.

I have the JBL system with amp/sub. I've seen the posts about snipping two wires but my harness on my latest joying head unit does not look like the one from the pictures previously posted in here.

Any advice would be appreciated. Currently using it with no sound.

My Joying unit (Android 10) just reset back to all factory default settings after being installed for over a year today...

No dead battery or anything abnormal happened- was listening to spotify when I got back from lunch then when I got off work it booted with a different screen with an image of a mountain and prompts about 'improving user experience' and wouldn't connect to my phone so I started scrolling through menus and sure enough, it's lost all edited settings. Reset button did not go back to custom settings either.

It's been an EXCELLENT unit up until this.

    Anyone else experience this?

    2017 Tacoma, non JBL.

Is my canbus faulty? - Notice it’s says unknown.
I have canbus in connected to canbus out.

i ask because I do not have steering wheel control, or backup camera.
    Canbus is set to: Raise/Toyota/Toyota.
I’ve also tried several different vehicle choices as well.

Backup camera is connected to the 24 pin and the backup camera rca.

    connected:

    not connected.

I have a 2017 Limited, so it had the JBL system. I purchased the previous version. Had trouble using the setting I had and Joying got back to me the next day. They told me to use the setting in the image below. I know mine is a different version of Android, but I really would assume it would be he same canbus settings for you as it is for me with a 2017.

I'm struggling with the audio speed settings.

I nearly have all of my setting the way I want them, including my cell phone automatically turning on the hotspot when I enter the car and when I leave the car it turns off.

I am struggling with the volume speed adjustment. I swear I have the damn thing turned off so the volume should stay the same all the time. When I go above 40 sometimes it gets louder and sometimes it gets quieter. When I come back down below 20ish, it sometimes gets louder or quieter as well. It rarely works the way I want it to, so I'd like to turn the darn thing off. Anyone have experience getting this to go away?

Got it all installed and can't get the factory back up camera to come up. plugged the CAN IN and CAN OUT together as instructed. It does recognize that I am going into reverse but no signal. I tried to go through like 30 pages of this thread because I know the answer has to be here but if some one could help me out or point me to the right page in this thread it would be helpful.

Only other thing I can't get working is wired carplay, I can get it going wireless but would prefer wired. Anyone else with this issue?
