I assume you set the canvas type to XP as suggested above?
Are there any settings under factory related to the backup camera video formats, etc?

Got the reverse camera working. Thanks to Afallon for the last part I've not seen posted in this thread. Also thanks to everyone who pitched in with ideas.

    Canbus settings Raise/Toyota/TOYOTA

The missing piece for me was the reverse camera setting to CVBS N

Now to figure out why wired carplay doesn't work but I'm thinking that has more to do with the Iphone 15 switch to USB C than this unit but will see. Reached out to support about it. USB C and cable I have worked fine on the stock head unit.

The included manual says it can be wired. We will see what support says.

I have got wired CarPlay working by using one or the two ports on the back, not the wired port.
Do you have JBL or non-JBL setup, and what does your settings say for can version?

I still cannot get my backup camera working. I made a video to share with the seller, here it is: https://youtu.be/Fj7MpGKsfBo?si=cMYCTYYFja14jBwF
But it’s not great quality as i had to set my phone down several times, and I’m not a pro YouTuber.
If any of you see some setting I do not have correct please let me know.

The only thing I see is after selecting rise toyota and TOYOTA I rebooted it for that setting to stick/go into effect. Reboot by swiping down and select that option.

    Mine is non JBL.

I plugged my phone directly into every USB on the back and still no luck.

I also have the 15, with usb C. No issue.
I have tried restarting the unit after selecting a different setting. ‘I don’t have steering wheel control as well.
    Do you?

I do have steering wheel controls for volume but advancing a song takes several pushes. Usually it restarts the current song over, using Spotify.

I'm also on a quest trying to get wired CarPlay to work, but I'm on an iPhone 13. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'll try some of the other USB ports on the unit, but I have my doubts.

Support told me this morning to try the cord that came with the phone to which I replied the cord for the Iphone 15 is USB C on both ends but maybe that will get yours working,

I'll try a different cable and see what happens. The 13s are still USB to Lightning.

Tried a new cable and nothing changed, but then I did try another USB port on the back and had success (I was previously using the dangling USB extension). I'm finally able to switch from one iPhone to another without all the jankiness that comes from this unit and the CarLink app.

Now to lookup how to wire one of these ports into the stock USB port in the front of my '17 Taco. That's going to be real fun.

Nice, I tried the OTG port on the back is the intended one (I think it's the top one of the two), guess I need to try a few different cables. Odd that the same one worked on the stock head unit but not this one.

Correct, I used the USB OTG port. The other ports appear to provide power only in this instance.

For posterity: after testing wired Carplay with a direct connection to the OTG port, I then added back in the included grey USB adapter and confirmed wired Carplay still worked through the OEM front panel USB port. I did have to remove and re-add the car, but unsure how necessary that was.

One thing I was pleasantly surprised with is how the back up camera now has the direction you are backing up when you turn the wheels (was not there stock on SR5) and also the back up alert when something is moving shows what direction it is coming from. I figured there would need to be some hardware to enable those two things but nope.

Here's a couple things I've done that took me a little while to find, maybe they'll help someone.

To fix the range of volume so your not blowing your eardrums past volume 15, go here and lower the host output ratio. I have mine set to 66 which gives greater control and finer tuning.

I bought the Joying rear camera last night and I plan to set it up as a front cam. You can see your cams anytime using the AR app, and I believe with a SD card or something you can have a DVR running at all times.

I'll update when I get it in and installed.
