It's solid that it's on TW, but good deals do pop up on FB, they just sell though

The vast majority of FBM is pure junk and/or way overpriced, so when a genuinely good deal comes up it's usually gone within a day.

So you don't drive it much, less on gas and maintenance. If your insurance is cheap, I assume it's paid off, just keep it. Mine sits in the parking lot at work for a week or two at a time. Not a big deal, money in the bank wouldn't do me any favors, but having a truck available whenever is much more handy.

Yea if I did sell it I’d probably be tempted to spend the cash in some other old shitbox or random other stuff.

This is why I opted to keep mine after getting the 4runner. Insurance on it is cheap, it's paid off, it's handy to have when I need it. And most of all, I don't want to waste a ton of my time trying to convince a bunch of randos and tire kickers what it's worth to me.

as the proverb goes, better the shitbox you know than the shitbox you don't

I tried selling mine once, I can't sell it worth what i think it's worth, it carries way too much sentimental value and has come in handy more times than I can count. I'm lucky I can just park it at work though, if that wasn't an option, it would force my hand to sell my car and fix the AC in the truck

The sentimental value will always be worth more than the actual value. I will never sell mine. I have had it already for 27 years.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
You skipped the part where the maxima didn't jump straight to the VQ from VG... there was a VE. Also the J30 was FR layout, it was technically not the same family as the maxima, it was based on the Cedric and used a VG30DE because thats what the platform was made for. The VQ30 (the first VQ) was only ever meant to be FWD layout
