I really did like the size of the stocks, I’m pretty sure I got a bad tire. It’s just sometimes hard getting a bad tire proven and swapped out, and I was tired of spending time at the tire shop. It was easier to force new tires by changing sizes than doing single tire swaps. Anyways, the reason I stayed away from larger was for acceleration, but thankfully I don’t feel like I lost any anyways. I think the initial gain felt good when I downsized because I was coming from 12lb heavier LTs. The larger SLs are only like 1 lb heavier and they’re actually narrower than the stocks so I think it all worked out well to be null as far as acceleration/mpg hit goes.

That's good to know. your new tires look awesome on your truck, fills out the wheelwell a bit better.
My concern was also loss of acceleration with the 265 75s, but an additional 1lb is negligible. Ill be going with those tires next time.

Yes, same here. Very easily been up to 140KM/h+ briefly, , on a quite section of highway. Over 2 years later and I'm still happy with them. Mine are 265 70 R17. You could easily go one tire size up next time. IMO.

Ive got the 1 inch lift in front 1/2 inch in rear as a buffer, came with trail edition, so no reason not to, now that I know acceleration wont be affected too much. Stock goodyears were also slightly taller than the toyos of same size, which was a little unexpected.

Yeah, my stock size were Japan as well. Looks like ATIIIs coming from Serbia is a newer thing. Interestingly enough, my 5 were made through various times of 2023. One of them was as early as the 25th week and all the others were in the 40s weeks.

That is interesting because I thought the 70s were pretty tall looking. They measured out to provide the same speedo calibration as stock. They definitely look taller than something like a Michelin, which is probably expected. They were also pretty wide too though which makes them extra beefy looking despite whatever the height is.

I compared the unmounted goodyears to the toyos, and I realize now that this is unsprung. I'm guessing when tires are mounted and on they vehicle, they appear a bit shorter? probably really close to stock size. I just made a mistake. Toyos are certainly wider in 70 size, wider tread and more square corners. love the looks.

The guy at the tire shop tells me that tires can age and have an expiry date? He warned me not to keep tires around for years and re- mount them or sell them after they get too old. I guess that makes sense. rubber can dry out over time.

Yes, rubber dries out and cracks over time. Your climate can expedite wear too. Here in AZ tires seem to wear faster, because the pavement is so hot in the summer.

He advised you to sell them if they get too old? With full disclosure to the buyer I assume?

he advised not to sell them if too old. I just sold my stock goodyears to a friend this weekend anyway, off of my 2023 taco.

Most tire shops won't install tires older than say 5 years anyway.

I think I was running them at around 32psi. I had them mounted to 16' FJ wheels and have a 2.5' lift. :)

Loving these - they've been treating me good for last 1k miles, deep snow, mud, etc. People complain about noise but honestly nah.

Looks awesome. I just have 31’s (265/70). Went with a 2” front / 1.5” rear but gonna do 1” rear instead.
