I will always remember the Air Force's birthday because my brother's birthday is the 17th, the Air Force the 18th and then mine the 19th.

    Happy Birthday Air Force!

Nah. It just ended up meaning "non flight line worker". So even though we were the nonner's.. they were still the Fobbit's.

Probably would've been a lifer if I didn't end up at a SAC base. Tired quickly of the silly games of canning parts off of a FMC aircraft to fix a broken aircraft so it made it's scheduled flight and the DCM didn't take a hit. Figured out quickly the titless WAF in CBPO had a M-F, 0700 - 1500 schedule while I had a whenever schedule working every other weekend for 12+ hours we had the same paycheck.

Early 80s at my first base (DMAFB) when we'd tell our supervisor we were going to CBPO it actually meant a Commissary BX Post Office run.

We used that term into the early 90s too, up until they changed CBPO to MPF

Yeah, but as time went on there were fewer people who understand what a 'CBPO Run' meant, so I had to explain it. Finally, I just gave up.
