    I agree 100%.

I have, unfortunately, had two separate hospital stays in the past 3 months The nurses and the techs were caring, compassionate and professional. I would see the Doctors once or twice per day but the nurses and techs were a constant presence. I have a ton of respect for the profession and I do put them a notch above YouTube content creators.

Now back to our regular scheduled program. Let’s hear about the 2024 Tacomas.

Well at the moment I don't have a picture of the spare tire as its up under the bed of the truck. I did see it tho and Im not impressed with Toyota cheaping out on a $50k midsize truck by not giving you a matching spare
It is full size but it's definitely a limited use, barely there tread, that you wouldn't consider taking any trips on. Im considering going to the tire shop and having them replace it with a matching Michelin that came on the truck.

I wonder if a 235/85R16 would fit down there?

Im new at this forum game and I have had the new 24 TRD Sport since Feb15th.
Ive been making post on what I'm learning about it as I go. Its a huge jump in technology from what I've had for a daily driver for the last 24 years. (Yeah, I see vehicles as a necessary evil and not a show piece that needs my undivided attention or attracts ooohs and ahhs from anyone else).
I bought new because Im nearing retirement and my financial advisor said its time I upgraded my old workhorse Ranger.
IMO ONLY... The 24 TRD Sport does look good and rides nice and seems to be built very sturdy!
But what I think people on this forum want is an honest opinion and details. Keep in mind this is an old guy's opinion ONLY so here it is!
My MPG gauge is either lying to me or mine is getting poor milage at the moment.. it's showing around 17mpg.
My 4 door is a little tight on space in the back seat but probably won't have adults back there very often, just the occasional grandson or two. It's not uncomfortable but certainly not roomy either.
I don't like the limited upward travel of the 'tilt' wheel. The whole steering column raises a little but the steering wheel itself doesn't actually tilt like on our old 99 Suburban or the 98 Ranger that has tilt wheel ( we have two 98's, one with 88k and my daily driver, a 4WD, 5 spd manual single cab has 298k miles).
The back of the hood near the windshield has what I would call a small flutter or deflection? while driving. It's as if it could use a little more reinforcement along the back edge. (This may only be a flaw on my truck!)
Don't get me started on all of the different gauge layout options, the different vehicle 'modes' and the overkill digital information.
Im 'old school' and don't see me using even a third of these options. All I NEED to know is my speed, the amount of gas in the tank, is the engine overheating, oil pressure, battery condition and an idiot light if something in the engine fails. Also an indicator as to ifI'm in 2-High 4-High, or 4-Low. I will never use the optional instrument cluster gauge that shows the vehicle's angle of tilt. I will never use the 'crawl' mode. I will never use the square openings under the tailgate on each side that look like something left unfinished in its design. They are for using a Hi-Lift jack.
This Tacoma will never see MOAB, and 4Hi or 4Lo can get me out of about any situation I'll ever ge it in.
That won't be needed very often because I'll keep my old 4WD 98 Ranger for deer hunting and getting me out into the fields and back. Why risk tearing up a $50k vehicle when the Ranger is still going strong?
I will use the gps on the few times I'm in unfamiliar territory on a road trip.
The 14" drive-in movie size screen on the dash looks HUGE and I find it terribly distracting, especially at night, even in Dark Mode! There's something inherently wrong with searching for information on a big dashboard mounted tablet while driving down the road at 60 mph! PLEASE DONT DO IT! There are those of us that want to live awhile longer!
I probably come across as an old disgruntled curmudgeon but I'm just describing what I'm seeing. I'm not at all unhappy with the vehicle
It's probably common across all vehicle makes and models but I think they try to outdo each other by throwing every convenience imaginable into these things whether its adds any real value or not!
It surely adds to the cost and greatly increases your chances of it spending time at the service center in the future as these things fail and throw fault codes.

You're amongst friends here lol. Besides, you have an old Ranger, I think half the users here also had a Ranger at some point. '89 2wd 5 speed 2.3 here.

    Thanks for the feedback.

You have to keep driving that Ranger until you hit 300K. You are so close.

I had a 94 access cab. Thing was bomb proof until the timing chain snapped, driving the pistons into the valves.... Tore it apart and no damage other than the valvetrain. Rebuilt the top end and she was good as new until I got t-boned at like 280k miles. Booooo

Finally, an actual "review". How does the suspension feel? Historically the Sport has been a stiff rider and not great for many of the crap roads around here in the Midwest. Wondering if that has been addressed somewhat? Can you notice the coils in the back? I have a '19 OR but have never needed any of the traction control gadgest beyond 4 Hi and 4 Lo and have thought about moving to a Sport down the line.

That sucks. That’s still a great run for any vehicle.

All good. Thanks for your straight forward feedback. I had a brand new 89 Ferd Ranger for 3 years. 2wd, 2.9L V6 5speed manual long box. Traded for a brand new 1992 4x4 Toyota Extra-Cab, 3.0L 5 speed truck.

You may want keep that ranger around for a while. You may encounter a few debilitating flaws or bugs necessitating a few days at a dealership.

    1400 more miles to 300k!
The Ranger is a sportside (fenders outside the bed). V6 3.0L that averaged 23mpg, Manual shift, manual roll up and down windows, manual door locks, no tilt wheel. Just power steering, power brakes and AC! Really all I've ever needed to get me from point A to point B and back again. Hardly ever went anywhere that I didn't know where I was at!
Funny story.. I pulled up to place my order at a ChicFill-A and the young man approaced to take my order and as I was cranking the window down he jumped back and yelled "WHOA! Old School! " I didn't know whether I should laugh or just glare at him!

Green Jeans, you have me wondering about a tire fitting under there, especially like the 265/65R-18 's that came on my TRD Sport.
    That may be a No-Go

Odd..Just looking now and they have a 245/75R-17 'CONVENIENCE SPARE" under there now..
Just measured, both the Goodyear 17" spare and the 4 Michelin 18" tires are roughly 32" in diameter. So a full road size road tire would fit.

JWestie, the word I would use to best describe the suspension is "firm". It isn't going to jar the fillings out of your teeth and handles bumps and uneven pavement with a good solid feel that keeps you in control. I like the ride! I dont have any past Tacoma experience to compare any changes they've made with the new body style. My wife has the 2023 Tundra TRD Sport and It rides rougher than my Tacoma. It feels as though there's very little give in the suspension OR the seat cushions! The seats feel stiff.. The Tacoma TRD Sport feels like it can handle the rougher roads and still give a comfortable ride.
Keep in mind, this is just one new owner's opinion!

I have purchased so many new vehicles in my lifetime I lost track long ago, sure it would be nice to have a new 2024 Tacoma but as I get older it really doesn't excite that much anymore, currently I have a 2020 4Runner TRD ORP W/KDSS in Nautical Blue, has 25K mi, also have a 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax CC W/standard bed W/ 40K mi, also have a 2007 Camry XLE V6 with 190K mi that runs great, use as a airport car. Wife has a Lexus RX350, I really have no need right now for a Tacoma, would never trade the 4R for one, and the GMC HD is needed to tow the Airstream. Maybe when the Airstream is gone I'll get one. I do really like the Tacoma better than the Tundra, the Tundra is trying to be something it can't, a HD truck for towing. The Tacoma is the perfect size, not too big, not too small, just right. Nobody will ever buy a Tacoma to tow a large travel trailer.
but for everyday use it's perfect, easier to park, carry kayaks and bikes in bed, even pick up supplies or a big box item from Home Depot.
