They don’t need it. The RTV you see is from the timing cover when the engine was assembled.
With that being said, it doesn’t hurt to put a little on each thread of all the bolts.
I could look in the repair manual. What engine and year?

The repair manual makes no mention of RTV.

Alright just didn't know since those 2 bolts had it on the threads. My manual and alldata didn't say anything about rtv either but didn't want a coolant leak from the bolts if they were in the water jacket

Im starting to design my front bumper but I am not sure what I want to do for some long range spot lights. Anyone have any insight on this?

Gotta spot these things when we send it up to NMW after work.

Amazon LED 9” ARB knockoffs. So much light, you can turn off the headlights and not really notice much of a difference. Issue is when you turn them off and still need to see with just the headlights…

In the same vain I have a question.

I have these on my truck:
    https://caliraisedled.com/products/...d-fog-light-pod-replacement-mounting-brackets

Does anyone know if they'll accept other pods?
    For example, these?
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BNQ3BBBB?smid=AFLE0NKKTARYW

I just don't know if I am "stuck" with the classic cubes or if I can expand my horizons. Looking to kinda redo the front lighting this year - fogs, ditch, and maybe add a hidden bar or pods.

edit - found this in a review, so maybe they fit?

    upload_2024-3-6_9-0-8.png

Edit again - can't read, that says ditch not fog. I ordered them along with a backup set of traditional cubes, so we'll see what happens. If they don't fit I will return them (Sorry Auxbeam :( ). I hope they fit though!

Doing new ditch lights, too, one of the smaller sets. And amber from the off, so no covers to deal with.

Not really a spot light but my DD 30 inch light bar that’s tucked in my BAMF bumper is pretty killer at night

Well, I have a BD light bar in my bumper, above the winch. Amazing throw. And the "amber" is pretty much selective yellow, so good contrast.

I know @crashngiggles has a site he has used with success, he recommended to me when I was looking. But, I didn't want to modify the bumper.

I have a 30 inch dual (White/Amber) bar in my grill (with a modified BAMF hidden light bar grill holder) but the 20 inch dual light is freaking crazy good as well if you are putting one in the front bumper. Almost all of my lights (other than my Diode Dynamics fog lights) are ExtremeLED light bars. Lifetime guarantee and about half the price of most. If you are only looking for a 20 inch, may I suggest this one:
    https://extremeledlightbars.com/x6s-amber-white-20-combo-beam-light-bar-kit

I have this one and love it!!!!

Something I don't see on the site explicitly. It's two "different" light bars combined into one package, with two independent switches, correct? No switchback nonsense?

You don't have to deal with this nonsense, if you want to go from amber back to white?

    upload_2024-3-6_13-9-34.png

I'm thinking about the hidden light bar and that's a 30". Would fit nicely.

    Hey @TacoTuesday603,

Consider acquiring some forward-facing illumination for wildlife spotting? At Baja Designs, we offer a range of lighting solutions including light bars, Squadron/XL series lights, as well as our LP series lights. If you're seeking long-range visibility, explore our Onx6+ with a spot lens pattern, providing impressive distance coverage thanks to its deeper reflector for intense midfield spread. Another increasingly favored option is our LP6, featuring Integrated Peripheral Technology (ITP) for a wide 200-degree spread, ensuring ample light projection down the road. I will link some information below for you to check out. If you have any questions about our products, please let me know, and I can give you more insight about our product line.

2 different switches and it comes with the harness anyway. . I have mine wired into my 8 gang switch. I can have white on, amber on, or both on. I can show you the next time I see you. I also have the Extreme 40" Single Row LED Light Bar (Combo - Spot and Flood) for my roof connected to my roof rack.

I run a 22" bar with both patterns that's something like 22k lumens. I also use Diode Dynamic 2x2 sport spot pattern in my ditch light brackets to fill in the edges of the bars center spot pattern

Im thinkin about it. Im going to make a hybrid bumper kinda like c4's here (but with a crossmember chop and reinforcing the frame without extra brackets). Im not sure if I want to just toss a lightbar in there or do something a little more unusual.
    upload_2024-3-7_8-22-7.png

One idea is to do a pair of Rooo spotters on the front under a hoop like @Roody here.
