Anyone thinking about letting their 3rd Gen Taco go for the last of the Gen 5 4Runners?

So I’m currently looking for a T4R, for various reasons. Would like to get a 5th gen, when do the prices start to come down. Nice used ones are asking 35ish, new ones are just as expensive, 45ish. Or will they never come down?

I'm fascinated by the sheer number of people who think of an SUV and a pickup as interchangeable.

If you are one of those people... your lifestyle doesn't call for a full utilization of a pickup, so why saddle yourself with a pickup?

Same, and I'm keeping them both until the wheels fall off.
Put 300K on the 4th Gen Runner and it was running like a champ when I sold it for the 5th Gen.
No reason not to expect the same or better out of this one.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
Why not both? I've got my 16 Taco and a 22 4R. Each has their place in our family. The Taco is a work and OR truck, the 4R is a family shuttle.

I’m finding on the lots that all new models of T4R’s have the premium package, ie, sunroof , don’t really want a sunroof. Just curious what everyone else is seeing.

Yep. A lot of premiums of each version. I’m the weird old school guy that loves the coziness of fabric, the design of the fabric is a throwback too.

I used to haul firewood stacked full in my ‘85 4Runner, also once took the topper off, threw a tarp down and hauled a load of topsoil…

…then thought, I really need a truck, but if there is a will, there is a way! Unfortunately most the “utility” of sports Utility vehicles today is long gone…can you imagine loading the back with a pile of dirt of that new $55-70K Land Cruiser? Lol!

I was considering dropping the 3rd Gen Taco in exchange for a GX460 until I looked at current interest rates.

Can you spot the correct 4x4 answer?

    GX > Auto
    LC > Auto
    T4R > Auto
    Taco > MT

(Hint: The correct answer is MT Taco)

    Still No.
We have a RAV4 which my wife uses as a ladies' pickup.
I kept my 1991 Truck as a beater and junk hauler.
    The new 2023... just "because"

I bought the 2023 in December after I found out the 2024 is nothing I ever want nor have interest in.

Ohh that's easy. I wanted a manual transmission offroad capable vehicle for work and Toyota was the only company willing to sell me one in March 2023.
