Definitely a loose term these days. However, they report on vehicle and manufacturer news, are on the short list to get invited to new vehicle roll outs at most manufacturers and seem to be relatively unbiased. Roman has a masters degree from Northwestern University, which is a top journalism school.

Being unbiased is what I like best about the TFL boys. They also aren’t afraid to talk about the bad elements of a vehicle unlike many other reviewers that just say everything is great.

Agreed. I’ve watched them for a decade, and even emailed back and forth with them about car advice. They’ve been great

Yep, that's way up there. My trips were 15 miles by boat into Miles Bay, though my grandfather and his family fished all the way up to Kenora, Whitefish Bay, you name it. Its been a long time for me, unfortunately.

    Off topic, maybe not.
I have been looking for this Ford Bronco video hitting a mud pit at full speed -- then attempts to get out.... reducing his 4x4 to a 4x2 in a matter of seconds. "Pop!" Near the end he speculates it is CV axle failure.

    https://youtu.be/NJ6EpNa2hQE?si=V3vuwR4T83eIcHwq

His next post and video contained the diagnostics.

We’re still here. May long and the open of Walleye season is just around the corner. It’s always a good time at this time of year to jump on the sleds and ride down to the Northwest Angle for lunch.

4Lo and 4Hi ranges both have upper speed limits according to the owners manual. 10 or 15mph in 4Lo and 60mph in 4hi...iirc

4Hi can be activated at any speed really. And 4Lo you gotta be in 4Hi and in Neutral first

In 3rd gen and older there are only speed limits for engaging/disengaging and no limit once actually in 4hi/4lo besides the mechanical limit of the low range reduction.

    Right.

In 4Lo if you try to drive fast you'll hit the rev limiter anyway and go nowhere fast

In 4hi you can definitely go beyond 60whatever mph like the manual says even tho it's needless at that point.

Everyone citing user error, that doesn't sound right to me. Unless they did something before getting to that point that was idiotic and weakened it prior, I doubt it. I've throttled out of things in 4lo before with way more wheel spin than this and never have I turned my 4x4 into 4x2.

I don’t even know what that last sentence means but you should know about using 4 HI on the highway in snow then.

And I’ve spent years living hundreds of miles north of you and still drove highway speeds in 4hi for six months.
