Well, I'm trying to put together a team.

Most others already playing have their groups so if you decide to jump on :burp:

There's bugs to receive your payload of Freedom

    ICBM's for launching Democracy

    Helldivers 2 Screenshot 2024.03.01 - 20.39.23.63.png

And various settings to enjoy your Liberty

    Helldivers 2 Screenshot 2024.03.03 - 21.35.16.02.png

But it wouldn't be complete without your fellow Helldivers doing those things alongside you

Do your part, and join the fight :muscleflexing:

    Second SLI build done

    4770K on a Z97 Asus Gryphon, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3, 1TB Crucial SSD, and 2-Way SLI GTX 780TI powered by a Corsair RM850X

Noctua CPU cooler and fans all around

I never personally owned a build for 2018 which would've been an AMD 2700x/1920X or Intel 8700K/7900X; my 6700K replaced the 4670K I had and lasted until last year's 13600K build

    2008 and 2013 alive again

What a difference 5 years makes

I normally run m.2 Samsung Pro drives, 3 in my main PC but these are great for extra space or just using them as an HDD replacement in an old system

    20240308_115144.jpg

My 3rd one so far, 1tb can be had between $48 to $54

    Yeah.
That's exactly what I use for my data drive. Nice not having any spinny disks. My Unraid box still has spinny disks, but they are 4TB and I don't want to pay for 4TB SSDs.

Drivers downloaded and everything ready to go; I'll run some stress tests followed by testing some old games but so far so good!

    Annotation 2024-03-08 135845.png

First GPU is a tad bit toasty though compared to the second one

Edit: Did a simple 3DMark Firestrike, running lower than average but it's because my shit is running hot...specifically that first card

    Annotation 2024-03-08 144944.png

On another note, the damn CPU runs cool as hell with that Noctua cooler

    Yeah.
Didn't you refresh the thermal paste? I had to do that on my daughter's old 1080 once, it was crusty.

I went with a Thermalright Peerless Assassin on my current build, great performance for under $40. No reason for me to go liquid.

    I did, on both
But if you notice, the GPUs have only the tiniest bit of breathing room :bananadead:

Funny thing is, people report these temps running a single card so I don't think I'm doing bad at all!

    Temp target is 83

Fan curves need adjusting; will set to about 100% at 75

Max temp is about 95 so we're golden!

That Peerless Assassin btw was on my list, it just wouldn't fit my setup though.

Small overclock; CPU now at 4.5ghz (over stock 3.5ghz)

GPU fan curves adjusted to 90% at 75 degrees and 80% at 65 degrees

She was definitely roaring during 3DMark but she's running cooler and scoring higher

    Annotation 2024-03-09 122829.png

And this one is after overclocking the GPU's a bit as well

That 4770K must get hot! I had the 4790K that supposedly had improved thermals. The cooler I had kept it in check, but it definitely helped keep a room warm in the winter.

Never had a 4790K but the 4770K can handle a sustained 90 degrees using the stock cooler

Not sure if you can see the numbers; 67 degrees max temp after a bench mark (overclocked)

What kind of cooler did you run on that thing? I started running AIO's around 4th Gen and kept using them from there on out

Got this Noctua and remebered just how damn good they are; makes me want to switch out my current AIO on my other PC

I had a Noctua NH-D15. I think I was running the CPU at 4.7Ghz for a few years. Eventually scaled it back when it was using it in a home server. Still gave off a lot of heat though.

So 300mhz above boost; reading about the 4790K seems they're just happy to be under 90 degrees so I'm sure you were good to go.

Did ya keep it at least below 70

Sometimes when I do a build and stress test, I like to push to keep to a certain temp and no higher.

Thinking later today I want to push the 780's a bit more and see if I can get closer to the 17,500 3DMark; they have a capped voltage keeping the stock bios on them so worst thing that could happen is the PC crashes.

Edit: Done, the stable OC rests at -

    Annotation 2024-03-10 114203.png

That's a complete 24.1% improvement over stock; 25.6% improvement on the graphics side and 21.8% on the cpu side.
