Steady 65 mph, letting the truck do its thing without pushing it. KMA 4G!

that's about right. i have seen around 26+ on long haul travel with cruise control, might have had a tailwind :)
when you get to your destination, be careful of prediction of how far to empty. i get around 17 around town.

edit: summer vs winter gas matters, too.

I'm new to Tacomas and I would like to believe MPGs like those; however, I have always found vehicle MPG readouts to be wildly optimistic.

It’s totally fine compared to the competition. Think about the compromises it takes to get 30mpg — you’ll be in a Santa Cruz or a Maverick: castrated bed, reduced clearance, imposter status on TacomaWorld…

Brand new, no mod's I think I was getting about 21-23ish max. But to be honest I only went through maybe 3 tanks of gas before I put the lift and 35's and regeared with 4.56's I think I am getting about 16 or so now. Never paid too much attention to be honest.

What I absolutely HATE about 3rd gen's is the low fuel light comes on when you are down to like 1 gallon! on 2nd gen it comes on when you have 3.5 gallons left.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
That's great - for one trip.
What's your calculated total tank mileage?
That's what really matters 'cuz that's what you're paying for.

i faithfully tracked my gas mileage with an app for the first 6 months or so after getting my truck and the dash read out was always very close. given that it was always within 1 mpg it seemed like a waste of time to continue logging.

on a stock truck, it's pretty easy to get 400 miles on a tank if you're just doing highway driving, even keeping the needle around 70mph.

FWIW my dash MPG readout is about .1-.2 MPG optimistic. I’ve done hand calculations many times and it’s very, very close.

that only works if you are running stock tires and then it is still usually off. if you compare your speedometer to GPS speeds at 70 MPH on the dash i bet your really only going 69. Doesnt sound like much until you add it all up... you just lost alot of your warranty! VS running 35's for every 100 miles on the clock i have driven 114 :) its like extra warranty, lol

if you're running stock tire sizes, then yes, it works. if you're lifting, changing tire size or adding a lot of weight, then... ymmv.

I consider it a good milage when I can get 350 miles in one tank. I usually hover around 16-18 mpg.

My worst was 12 mpg on a 600 mile road trip, headwind all the way with 2 bikes on my roof.

Best was 23 mpg on a 700 mile trip, all tailwind with an empty truck.

When my fuel light comes on I have around 3-4 gallons left. When the milage count down reaches "0 miles until empty" I have at least 2 gallons left

When you have the fuel light come on and you refill do you put in 20 gallons of gas? Or are you just going by what the computer says you have until empty?

Mine comes on when i have approximately 25 miles left until empty.
Does that mean i'm getting 25 mpg?

I'm impressed! Hopefully my new 2023 will get those type of MPG results.
