I just got my first 4g specific marketing discount $500 of and 5.99% financing for 60 months. This is in NJ, where many dealers are still marking trucks up.

discounts might happen for a lot of vehicles, but i doubt it will happen for Tacomas and defnitely not 20%. while other brands and models are already getting discounts, Tacomas are still having month long waitlists to get vehicles. the Toyota dealerships near me dont even plan on having test drive tacomas until the end of the 2024 year since every vehicle they are allocated are sold before they are even given it. if i want to test drive one, i need to order it, put my deposit down and wait 3-4 months. once its here i can test drive it and if not then they say it will be given to the next person on the list and will be gone and off their lot before the end of the same day.

why would they give discounts when its at that kind of demand?

Why? Who knows. But there have been several posting of 2 to 3K off the 2024's already.

The broker on the 4G forum is doing $2,750 off all his availability. No OR or Sport Premiums though.

Really? I don't see that demand here in Atlanta area. There are plenty inbound based on Toyota's site inventory search. I mean some that have hit the local lots have not sold quickly and on Toyota's site most (like 95%) are listed as available. I mean maybe the dealers have a bunch of orders lined up that they have not told anyone about but I doubt that. I would be very surprised if they even manage to hold at MSRP for more than the first month. Guess we'll see. I don't expect 20% discounts like whoever said that but 5% below MSRP is what I guess you will see before long on most trims. Hybrid though? Forget about it. They will rake you over the coals for one of those. You are going to pay dearly for one if you must have one for whatever reason.

My local dealer has 4 on the lot. This is in an area with money and tons of tacoma fanboys.

Some higher trim level tundras are up to 10k off right now. Not quite a 20% discount but it's the first time I've ever seen that kind of discount on a tundra in the last 15 years.

Toyota's site can tell you (just eliminate the in transit). Anyways, local dealer wanted me to put down $1k deposit for a limited and they would sell if for MSRP + $48 + tax (no dealer fees of any kind). I passed since I've yet to sit in anything but an SR5 and only drove that one for a few miles. Not enough to say how I really feel about it. So, if one dealer is already offering that deal I don't see many having success in raping people other then for some rarer trims or combos. (or hybrids, heaven help you on those)

He just refreshed his list. Also Elgin Toyota in IL is discounting their allocations.

There will be plenty of discounts once Toyota gets their shit together and starts delivering trucks to the dealers. The only people currently buying these trucks are YouTubers and those that got to have the newest thing. They will pay full price or more. The rest of us will wait. There’s only a handful of people on this whole forum that currently own a 4th gen.

Gotta love the fact that there is a "broker" in between a toyota dealer and an end consumer already. Lose lose for the end consumer.

Toyota Global -> Toyota USA/NA -> Distribution company -> dealer -> Broker(if used) -> consumer Lots of hands in between all wanting their cut.

And apparently there’s a ton of margin between Toyota Global and my hands.

Probably. But all the parties are getting less than if you do GM -> Dealer -> Consumer. Assuming you were doing a Canyon Denali or Tacoma Limited. Same price but margins are larger on the GM route. Now the assumption of going direct Manufacture -> Consumer would lower prices might not hold true as the manufactures would still keep the same MSRP and then be selective on rebates/sales.

What dealer are you seeing the Tundras marked down at? In my area I see some marked down about 8,000 but none are hybrids and I'd like a hybrid. I've been keeping an eye out for the right deal to snag a Tundra. Definitely willing to travel out of state if the price is right.
