If I have to use four-wheel-drive on the highway during a blizzard, I’m going 50-55 tops. Although I will say that my 5th gen 4Runner was not complaining going 65 in four-wheel-drive when I transitioned from mountain roads to plowed dry city highways, and I forgot to turn it off.

Look I don’t care what anyone says, the green apple skittle was and will always be far superior to the lime skittle.

The Car Care Nut just put up a video on YouTube with a very comprehensive review of the '24 Tacoma. He goes into detailed review of the engine and drivetrain, 4WD systems, (including full-time AWD which I didn't even know it had available) transmissions including the manual, frame, suspension...just about everything. Hybrid system and more. It's about an hour long but well worth watching.

There is a link to it over in the 4th Gen forum.

Have you tried the buttered popcorn jelly beans? I wish they would stop including those in the kids mix. It throws off the flavor of the entire handful. :puke:

I dont know why ppl are surprised.. Meaning of " TRUCK " has changed so much now days. They moved from simple, cheap capable work horses to luxury SUV type sport cars.. Losers who pay over 55K in these trucks and never use it are reason why this is happening.

What kind of rear locker did you install on your SR5?

No mention of that, but he may have made the video some time ago. What impressed me is that it isn't a continuation of the previous generation(s), it seems to be a "made from-scratch all new truck" which addressed many of the issues it had: Full-box frame with plugs and other touches to combat rust. It still has some nods to previous generations, like leaf-springs on the lower trims. But it also has 2024 touches: like an aluminum driveshaft made by Spicer/Dana and selectible locking center diff (with Full Time AWD) made by Torsen. Power steering rack is now electric which is a big deal. The front diff is still cast iron but STILL has those %$#* torx plugs believe it or not. The Transmission and 4WD review starting at 21:40 is one of the best parts of the video.

What kind of weirdo eats them by the handful? You have to eat one of each color in order until they are gone.

A part in the front differential called the ADD failed. That particular part is what allows the truck to shift into 4WD from 2WD while on the move.

They also said it was supposed to fail as a safety feature. Good thinking by Toyota engineers!
