Lets get @uhplifted to order another bike.

he texted me and said he sold his Harley and KTM, and got a BMW car.

They're not my thing, but I can appreciate them. I'd take an Easy Rider and a Jax's SOA one if they were free :D

Oof. I agree, that's a good looking bike. I'm also considering the softtail slim, but I'm wondering if the riding position on it may be a bit too relaxed for the kind of roads I'm on daily driving. Gonna go sit on 'em one day soon and compare.

Hah, i had one of those too! Not for long though. I don't really count it in my total count of over 15 bikes in the past 14 years.

Exhaust was the first thing to go. I didn't really do too much to it. Tank size was a nice upgrade - to 5 gal, over the 2.1 on the 48. But I vaguely remember that it didnt have cruise control or much wind protection. The floor boards were nice.

Ooo fancy parts showed up for the 2014 wr450 suspension refresh.... She's got 180hrs on it at this point and it's welllll overdo, zero leaks n zero issues so this is just maintenance *fingers crossed*. Fork fluid, seals/bushings and rear shock oil.

Has anyone rebuilt a rear shock that DOESNT have a standard schrader valve to fill the nitrogen bladder? My wr450 will be the first that has a "self sealing" rubber plug you actually puncture with a needle... Something just doesn't sit right with creating a hole in something that needs to hold 160ish psi of a gas.

These are to replace the unvented plastic free pistons in the KBY SSS (aka AOS) forks that are known to fail.

As some one who has never worked on suspension components of any kind, you're really making me not want to.

I'll just sit in the corner and watch.

I love the looks of cruisers, and the fat front tire is sexy, but I learned that I don't like the forward controls. I feel out of control when leaning with my feet forward like I'm in a recliner. If that part didn't freak me out on them, I'd definitely be on a cruiser. Hard pass on the pirate cosplay though.

If you arent reshimming the valving on a front fork, the rebuild process (new fluid/bushings/seals) is actually pretty straight forward if you can follow directions, just a bit messy (especially on dual chamber forks). Its the "valve stack" tuning that really is VOODOO to most bust there are tons of resources out there for that as well if you want. Luckily the shim stack valving on my WR450's suspension stock is pretty darn nice for my riding and riding style so this will simply be a fork seal/bushing/ fluid swap, and rear shock fluid swap.

You’ve ridden our dual sport. There’s a lot that goes into getting permissions and such from DCNR for use of state forest and game lands trails. Why can’t we just have access like the national forests allow????

Those are sweet, but not really a comfortable two up bike.
