Yeah there are a couple spots I can think of East or West side that would make a lot more sense.

Canes already backs up Milton on the otherside.

If I had a time machine the first thing I would do would be go back and slap 10th grade me so effing hard... there was a goth girl who rode the bus with me that I never got the balls to really get to know. I remember her well, her name was Jenn, she had amazing hair, cute as hell, and she'd allllllways sit in the seat right in front of me (a hint I was oblivious to) but I would clam up. She'd try to start conversations, she'd give me the eyes as she got off the bus, I think she even unsubtly gave me her AOL instant messenger that was something hilarious like VampGurl

My stupid ass just did not get it.:anonymous:

While the subject of unwanted neighbors has popped up ...

If anyone hikes from the "Pyramid Trailhead" (19th avenue, just before Chandler Blvd becomes "homes only") I assume you enjoy hiking it after dark at least during the heat of summer, like I do. The homeowners adjacent to that trailhead have not demanded shutting down access after 11 PM because the current batch of hikers really want to just hike.

But I am told the big lot across from the parking lot will soon be "high density housing" (apartment, zero-lot-line, etc). Also a new fire station for the homes that far out.

But I am deeply concerned that the dopehead 20-somethings will walk across Chandler at 2 AM and make so much noise that the people who own the existing houses will demand that police enforce the night-time shutdown. And with a new fire station across the street there is a perfect parking spot for a police unit.

You can call me paranoid, but I like having that trailhead open past midnight, as do many who hike Pyramid at 3 AM during June.

I believe Taylor Morrison secured the development rights to that land. Being these will be high end homes with big HOAs I believe you'll need to find another entrance point if it gets to be busy.

High-end homes suggest that beer-drinking young-uns are not the expected groups crossing the road. That parking lot is not full at midnight so I hope that space will be available without parking on the street. With that in place, one would hope that the late-night hikers will be the same type of people, so the new HOAs can possibly be persuaded to wait until trouble is seen to ask for restrictions.

Thanks for that information. My source was not a city official or housing development manager.

If your water has a lot of chlorine in it, the chlorine turns the resin beads to gel and then the water won't pass through them. When I lived in Avondale, I had to replace the resin bed twice. You can buy a bag of the resin beads and do it yourself. Kind of a messy job though

FYI Sparklight internet customers. They changed their plans and now are including unlimited data. We were paying additional $40 a month for unlimited. They never contacted us and we had to call to change. Hope this helps someone.

    Wow I am duuuuumb :anonymous:

My frame cross brace things were looking a little crushed and sad so I flap wheeled the surface rust off and repainted them. While I was there I saw there were little spacers on them to protect the bolt heads.
"Surely I don't need these now, they're covered by a skid plate!" so off the welds came and I tossed them...

The skid doesn't fit without them on there.:bananadead:

I know a welder that can buzz some new ones on! This sounds frustrating being you were trying to make it better and had a brain fart. Maybe you stack some washers to fill the gap?? Might be a pita but could get the skid back in place?

Yeah I'm gonna stack some washers in there. Nylon spacers are usually thick enough. I think I only need like 1/4 inch or so. I think they make fender washer sized big lads that won't crush.

Little early and the flows are probably still high but black, blue rivers are must hits and in beautiful country. Stay on Forest service land and you won't need reservation permits.

I appreciate that you picked up on the sarcasm and the next post wasn’t you up in flames. :D

As already mentioned, I’ve had good luck with vice grips clamping the shit out of the nut.
