Hey Connecticut, our backs hurt

ughhhh, don't remind me! I lived there 2015-2017 and those winters of non stop mist/rain were so brutal. I miss the outdoors stuff greatly out there, but the winter months really take an emotional toll.


Getting ready for a Vermont weekend. Going to fill the bed of the truck up with firewood to use at the cabin, so it will be a true maiden voyage of my roof box setup over the bed for luggage and whatnot. I miss the days of not having a dog in the backseat so I would have much more storage back there.

Was at the PC Costco on Saturday in the midst of the constant rain. What a shitshow.

I should be getting the rest of the stuff for the fuse block today and tomorrow. Then I can start wiring it up properly. I didn't want to start without having everything here.

 

Morning all. I will echo the sentiments about the rain...figures my new work schedule allows for more free time and more opportunity to do fun stuff after work....turns out mother nature does not agree. Although its slowly staying lighter earlier and I feel its getting progressively warmer so thats good. I love the winter but this half assed nonsense is dumb. be cold and snowy or gtfo. bring on spring and summer!!

 

While I do not ski anymore, I still like to winter camp and snowshoe. Of course again this winter has said "nuts to what you like!". I am ready to get the miata back on the road and enjoy some turbo noises again. I am aiming for the 30th as the maiden voyage for 2024, since the car is in Branford in storage. Keeping the car away makes me avoid all of the temptation.

 

I'm with you. What I wouldn't give to give the Monte a good rip, but there's not way I'm doing that in the cold shitty rain when there's still tons of sand on the road. Plus I can not wait to go mountain biking again.

 

I hope I will get some motivation to get back on the mtb this year. Even though I do not trust it with the cracked/welded frame, it is fine as long as I am not hucking like I used to back in the day. I used to ride the west hartford reservior 3 times a week when I lived in Farmington. Now my closest trail between work and home is Rockland which I do not love since it is just too many crisscrossing trails. Tyler Mill is also close to me in Wallingford so maybe, maybe Ill check there. Or I should just get back into riding my singlespeed roadbike after work. I used to live for biking and have fallen out of it sadly over the past few years.
