Tacoma 3rd gen custom made leaf pack by Alcan Spring in the USA. Rated 1300 lbs. with a 3" lift. I ran this pack with a iKamper, roof rack, Decked System and full steel bumper. I ran for 5k miles, exactly 11 months. I switched to AluCab and now have 1750 lbs. springs....... Great deal on some amazing springs!

 

My truck has steel skids, sliders, and a camper shell. Would this set up be way to much for my amount of weight? I like to take the shell off and run an empty bed at times as well.

 

You have to know your full weight vs empty weight. The only item you mentioned that will affect rear leaf pack is really the campershell.

 

Gotcha. That's kind of what I was thinking. I'd hate to have a terrible ride and a crazy amount of rake from driving with the empty bed. I figure that could even damage drive line parts but I'm no expert on such things.

 

you'd need 800-1000lbs in the bed at all times to need those springs.

Sounds like you need some air bags. Put some pressure in the bags when the camper shell is on, dump them down to a few psi when it’s off.

 

I have the icon 3 leaf aal and I'd like to upgrade to a better leafpack for ride quality. I actually want to sell my camper shell and go softtopper too so it's much easier to go on and off.

 

Super white short bed Leer camper shell. The interior light works but the third brake light has burned out. It's an led and I haven't replaced it. It has the tracks on top to add cross bars. Does 700 or best offer seem fair? I just saw one like it sell for 700 on here recently but that was on the west coast.

 

I ran the Dakar packs with my camper shell on the 2007. I pulled an overload leaf out though. Same leafpacks in all pictures. They rode great. Street, mall crawling, and jumping the railroad tracks

 

Your truck looks great with all three setups too. I was looking at getting the icon rtx pack but I'm not sure if it will feel any different than my oem pack with the icon aal.

 

You can always try building your own leafpacks before you buy something. I bought some Chevy leafpacks and built my own for my old prerunner. Very flexy

 

Thats a pretty rad way of doing it. I've read some about the chevy 63 leaf mod.

 

I think I paid $50 for some off Facebook. I just mixed two of the leafs into my factory pack.

 

Thats a killer deal!! I figured something like that would work. Leaf spring are pretty generic material thats been being made since horse and buggies.

 

It might be worth a phone call to Alcan about removing a leaf in that set to see if that would work for your setup. Bet they would be willing to help.
