317ftlbs through a 2.57:1 transfer case compared to a 2.0l Rubicon 295 ftlbs through a 4:1 transfer case and still the Jeep Fad holds up just fine.

I have a question, based on my search for where the 2024 Tacoma drivetrain is manufactured. The engine is manufactured in Huntsville AL. Is the drivetrain typically manufactured in the same facility? Or does it arrive in Mexico for assembly from another location?

 

I suspect they undersized the front diff on the non-hybrid Tacoma to save a few bucks, and are now realizing that they shouldn't have done that.

 

In the Hawaii reveal, they bragged on the hybrids having upgraded CV joints, CV axles, and rear diff. No mention of front. Hope you find different info.

I 100% am sure he would. It's just that I am sure he was engaged/pulled in so quickly because the particular truck that broke has very high visibility (millions of viewers).

I did watch the video, and that's exactly why I said that. I've dealt with and fixed broken CVs. Im 95% positive that's exactly what happened.

 

This may still happen on 4th gen. Notice this fuse point on the inner tie rod?

 

I've broken CVs....I'm 95% sure that's exactly what it is. They don't make a noise once their broke internally.
