Cheap screws on something that goes "boom!" ... does anyone else feel uncomfortable with the possibility?

I was able to get the other screw out without snapping it. I didn’t see any thread locker on the other screw. Regardless pretty scary

The manufacturer got back to me this morning he’s swapping out the top of the compensator so it’s not a big deal. I’m just wondering why it happened. My theory is there was no thread locker and it backed out just enough to where the pressure sheared it

These quick approvals helped me get one of dream builds finished. 1 week each for a form 4 and form 1.

Full DD MK18 upper with the new Griffin Recce 5k. Colt lower with MK18 logo, mostly Geissele internals.

It was my first can and some say it's not worth it to buy 5.56 dedicated cans bc they can never shoot subsonic so it will always be loud but I was super impressed by the sound reduction.
That k length looks perfect. Word of advice, don't over torque it on your taper mount or it will be pretty damn hard to get off. Enjoy!

Yea i havent even shot it and sometimes it takes some muscle to take it off. Ive got some aeroshell on the threads and taper, maybe thatll help.
I got a 556 can since this particular build will probably stay like this forever, with the can attached. Next can will be a 30 cal, will be my third.

lovin these quick approvals right now, by bank doesnt tho

Yeah these short wait times are insane. I'm still waiting on my 9mm can to be approved but it's only been a month.

I went ahead and bought the wrench from Griffin in the event mine gets stuck again. The first time it did I had to use my vise with my upper on my Midwest industries upper receiver rod and my can wrapped in an old bike tube for grip. Didn't have a strap wrench at the moment so had to use every bit of grip strength I had to get it off and pray the muzzle device didn't come off with it.

I did a dedicated OSS 556k can for one of my builds. Then picked up a sandman k for a 30 cal can and a gemtech lunar for a 9mm/.22 fun stuff.

The new huxwrx 762Ti looks awesome all the way around, maybe one day in the future I’ll get one to replace the sandman.
